Tell me more about the crash pad of brush, how it's arranged, and what size stuff it's made of. Is it just the upper canopy limbs of another tree or whatever is easily available?
A homeowner wants a 24" diameter 70-foot pine several feet from his house removed. The tree is leaning slightly away from the house and there is plenty of clear area to fell the tree. One company offered to do the job for a reasonable price but said he wouldn't be responsible for damage caused...
The rest of this tree I posted about a while back started dying as predicted, and the owners got a pro to take it down promptly as suggested. They did a first-class job...the neatest removal I've ever seen. All you see is a two-foot circle of fresh topsoil where the stump was. No sawdust, no...
It's been a while since I had a decent climbing project, but this one caught my eye. There are three dead limbs up in this pine. One is broken and hanging.
I cut and dropped pieces off the broken one, and used a speedline to get the other two. It made a nice pile, and I'll come back...
I've never owned or used anything that required diesel fuel, but I remember sharing a small office with people who did. Whenever they stopped to fill up on the way to work, they'd smell like diesel and stink up the office. Is there any way to handle the stuff without smelling like it afterwards?
I noticed right away that all of the rubber that was on the rods was deteriorated while that part between the bad spots in my picture and the cup was in very good condition. Maybe what they use as a lubricant isn't playing nice with the rubber.
That's surprising. I can see how a scratch in the (probably) powder-coated steel might lead to corrosion, but it doesn't seem like it would affect the rubber tubing. Too late now
If there's a next time, I'll just buy a replacement head assembly. It's not that much more than the pouch and...
I'd like to have a pulley mounted high up in a yard tree so all I need to do is pull my moving rope over the pulley and back down to my Zigzag. This would really simplify getting in a quick climb. I'd leave a light line in place as a bookmark when I'm not actually climbing.
Making a...
I used Windex to get it done this morning with both sides the same length with no twist. Just waiting for it to dry. It wasn't nearly as difficult as I thought it would be.
After using it several times I noticed the air chamber was still slightly pressurized after a launch. I searched around and finally found a lighter spring (on Amazon) I could use on the diaphragm to let the valve open quicker and stay open longer. So now I can get a little more distance, or I...
