    Okay, thanks for the information. So I need to look into some type of oil spray in the winter and spring? This tree has unfortunately been like this for probably 2-3 years.

    Any idea what disease is causing this? The bark is black and streaked, and there are cankers on the limbs. Often times there would be a ton of wasps around in the summer as well. Once identified, what would be the best course of action to clear and prevent further damage?
