Interesting to me they “spring to attention” without any connection between the upright corners and bottom lateral rods. I’ll give mine , a Weaver from TS, a good “feeling up” and see what she reveals. Thanks
Another option, thanks. I imagine the bottom corner is done with 90 degree plastic elbow though few have probably seen that if they tend to give out at the top first.
Anyone know what supports the corners of an origami style throw line cube? Thinking I’d like to make a couple without having to “violate” the one I’ve got.
If proceeding as pictured, better try it low and slow. When you load the figure eight side, the prusik is going to contact the limb and slip until the figure eight moves down and causes the prusik to reengage. Then when you load the prusik side the reverse will happen. I think you'll create a...
Tr33Climb3r- thanks for the reply. I let a 34mm go (New on Ebay) when I didn't get any feedback here and actually bought a new 28mm this morning at half retail so not a big deal if it is less than ideal. Thanks again.
My first rope was Arborplex with a 5/2 Blakes on the tail (closed system). I went to an open system using an Arbormaster Bigfoot split tail with sewn eye. A Blakes worked well for me at 165# back then.
Looking at a DMM ring for retrievable redirects. What's the smallest size you would get to girth hitch 11.7 (Dragonfly)? Getting ready to order 34mm and thought best to confirm. I say "smallest" in the event I also wish to use it for a friction saver or retrievable redirect on a sling opposite a...
Hi Kevin, thanks for responding.
Would you share what rope you shredded (if you remember) and what material/cordage and length you used for a tether in that experiment, if any?
Drop the cat?
Not mine, Kevin Bingham's. I've heard like most of you that Kevin came up with the idea from sharing the hitch friction using a "wrench". Anyone ever seen the wrench? I pictured a box end with a slot cut to pass the climbing line through but after more thought I'd guess he passed the climbing...
