    FTC Freexion

The catalyst is pretty sweet, but variety is the spice of life.

    FTC Freexion

I really like the FTC, switched to it this year after being on the Rope Wrench since 2011. It has some subtle advantages that are useful. I prefer it with the Camp Sphinx pulley and the FTC Rise-up spacer instead of a 3 hole pulley. The shape and contour of the device makes it into an excellent...

    mini grapples.

Its got a lot of squeeze, I think the center mounted single cylinder is better protected than the tandem designs on the ends.

    mini grapples.

I like my Erskine mini root rake a lot when I get to use it. I like the short bottom tines for loading and raking, super useful. Its made of 1/2" Grade 50 as well

    Mini and micro chippers

My Eliet is the Super Prof XC, 23hp. It has been a great machine for me so far and it is really good at punching above its weight in production work for only having 23hp. My concerns for the future lay mainly with the company itself and it's customer service. When I bought the machine, I had a...

Big Dead oak in poision oak

Mini skid or tractor with a root rake is what we do to clear a drop/work zone. Dry lather with Dawn and a cold rinse after work, don't delay.

    Vortex chipper

I just saw these. They remind me of the Dynamic Conehead chippers of decades past.

    Single vs. Tandem Rear Axles?

I used to drive a tandem rear axle, setvice body, rear mount 75ft Altec bucket when I worked at the City of Portland. It was a bear to park anywhere tight, the rear axle interlock was cool, but wouldn't get the rig unstuck. Our work was mostly ROW and in parks, that truck was too big to do...

    Euro tracked chippers.

It's a 7k rated trailer with 5k payload, pretty close to max payload loaded and chained down. ~3500lbs MT100, 1100lbs shredder, 4 3/8's inch chains 20ft long each with 4 binders.

    Leaving chips onsite

I do pruning and removals, but I don't haul anything off site. I will however work with the property owner to find a solution that recycles the shredded material back into their landscape i.e. mulching specific areas, pile it where they can distribute it on their own, and/or move wood to a...

    Euro tracked chippers.

Eliet Super Prof XC 5" shredder, not a chipper. ~$30,000 new now, I bought mine 2 years ago. 34.5" wide, 1100lbs. Definitely a change from the 12" morbark I had before, but I much prefer this machine as an owner operator.

    Jobber Software

Do you mean for switching over or just daily record keeping? I've had the Quick books Online integration since I started with Jobber and it works really well.

    Kubota SCL1000

That's rad you're so close, pretty much a local customer. I like the look of the KM100 too, or even the KM130. The KM85 would work best with my current set-up size-wise though. Have you seen this video? This dude shreds the cleanup with a KM100 + BMG.
