2020 Bandit 15xp chipper.

Reduce the weight load on golf courses. It floats on the grass and dirt.
I had the single wheel dig deeper than a fully loaded chip truck.
That makes sense, I’ve never driven across a golf course with a chipper. The single wheels do dig in on lawns, but we rarely put a chipper on grass so the weight doesn’t matter to us. I was curious as I know a 15XP is nowhere near needing dual wheels, even with that big engine.

No. It’s heavy metal.

To be honest this chipper is too heavy with one tire unless you are 100% on hard top or packed gravel. It’s 4000lbs on about a 1 square foot of surface area per tire. The dually configuration puts at at about 2000 per tire.

I had a loaner before buying this chipper with a normal 2 wheel axle. In Florida we are all sand under the turf. It was on the edge of getting stuck anytime it went off road. The weight broke through the turf and forget it if you had to back the machine up as it would instantly dig in and get stuck.

The costs of the extra wheels are minimal compared to the man hours of unhooking it from the chip truck and pulling it out with a 4x4. 2-3 recovery events and the cost of the tires are paid. Not having to lay a mat path every time you go off road, Priceless.

The palm feed wheel package might be well known in palm-ville.

Idk what that means, fwiw.

Some palm-oriented discs are oriented at 90⁰, instead of 45⁰',to the feed system.

Good luck with the sale.

The lower wheel has more teeth to control the palm frond. When chipping palms you have to slow the in speed by half to 3/4 due to the fibers of the palms fronds.

Never chip palms with dull blades or risk a clog.

Never feed boots without fronds or risk a clog.

Chip the trunk if you don’t like your machine. I only chipped about 2-3 out of necessity.

This chipper was for a 3 year run of live oak removals. We cut all the trees down now we don’t need it.

No changes on the drum.

Thanks.
Good luck with the sale.

There are all kinds of things you can have added to a Bandit in build. Most are not listed as options that I ever saw. Research, ask around, and ask more. Some things pay for themselves in time savings within a modest number of jobs where that option came to use.
