They will but you have to have a lot of smaller stuff burning to get rid of the big stuff. On the North Complex Fire in 2020 we had an ACB that was brought in that ran 24/7 for a while. It was run in two shifts. Grapple trucks brought in debris all day and the loader would feed it all day and night. You would drive by and just see heat waves coming off. They would just have to let it die down every now and then to remove the ash.
I thought I read somewhere that if they are set up right you'll get biochar. That would certainly be a good use of big wood that isn't right for lumber or firewood.

I think you just have to stuff it fast and then put a lid on it once its full of fully ignited wood. Don't take that to the bank though, I am just guessing based on experiences with making char.

The trick with bio char is smallish even size (surface volume ratio) and as low as possible for moisture content.
Straight wood chips spread on concrete for a summer. Or kiln..
