I haven't paid a ton of attention to the case, but my spider senses started tingling when the alleged killer still had the murder weapon some 5 days after the killing. He also had other uncontestable evidence such as the false identification.
He's not stupid... there's no reason to hold onto that incriminating evidence for 5 days. Ditch the gun, the clothes, the ID etc.. That'sjust commonsense.. It should have been done immediately
That alone calls everything that appears at face value about this case into question. But there's plenty more that doesn't fit the story. Original news reports had no doubt that the weapon was clearly identified as a single shot veterinarian gun. Now, apparently it's a 3D printed gun.
The other thing that's pretty suspicious is the fact that his parents reported him missing in July 18. That in addition to the fact that he was a DC beltway prep school valedictorian makes it highly likely that he could have been a Manchurian candidate.
Then there's the fact that the murdered CEO was under investigation for insider trading. Who knows what kind of powerful people he had the dirt on. This murder certainly could have been a way to cover-up larger crimes committed by powerful people... And send a message to anyone else involved.
Part of me thinks I'm reading too much into this, but then I keep coming back to the fact that he didn't ditch the gun. There's just no reasonable explanation for that. Reminds me of the day of the Oklahoma City Bombing when McVeigh got pulled over doing 80mph, with a gun on the front street, and no tag on the vehicle. That made no sense either.
