All Gear Pro Force splice?

I have just over 100' of 1/2" All Gear Pro Force line. HMPE core inside a polyester cover. I emailed All Gear asking for eye splice instructions but have not heard back yet. Anyone have a set of instructions for this type of rope construction?

Love this stuff for crane slings
I have 104 ft, according to the bag, unspliced right now. It will be for sale if you're interested. I'd like to try and splice it but if someone is interested in it "as is" I'll move it along to a new home. I got in a bulk buy of gear. There are other items I want to sell from that purchase but haven't taken photos or gone through it all.

Samson’s Tuck-Bury splice retains the most strength.
That definitely pointed me in the right direction. Samson's tuck bury splice looks like it's for just the bare hmpe.

I did find the attached class 2 bdl braid instructions which seem more inline with what this proforce is. Core dependant dbl braid with the hmpe in the core. Do you have any input on this method?

As an alternative, I have taken a piece of cover and threaded it onto the eye before burying, and then snugging it all up with whipping. The core is the only strength member anyway, but covering the eye will reduce abrasion.

To be clear, you are talking about just splicing the core to form the eye right?
No. The cover will be over the core in the eye. The end product looks like a traditional class 1 dbl braid splice. I've seen the finished splices up close but need to know what's actually different than a class 1 dbl braid splice.

In those samson instructions you linked, it is still fundamentally a core splice with some extra effort to keep the cover on the eye. The extra bit of cover tail just gets whipped into place on the side of the throat. In a class 1 the cover tail is buried inside the core before that all gets stuffed back inside the rope.

That Samson method is an overly complicated way of doing it.
Extract core at mark 2, reinsert at 2, leaving a bight fill the eye and come out at mark 1. Measure the core bury length and mark and align with mark 1. Milk slack out of eye and make second mark on core at the cover’s mark 2.
Sometimes the braid of the cover will allow the cover tail to be buried also, either buried in the core, or between the core and cover, or whip to the side.

I don't know why, but I am having trouble following/visualizing this. Especially that first part of extracting at 2 then reinserting at 2. Are you referencing the Samson class II dbl braid instructions when you say mark 2?

That attached pic is what the final splices I've seen look like. Cover is captured in the final bury. Simple lock stitch to finish.

That looks like they used class 1 procedure. I have wondered for a while why those directions aren't recomended for these types of mixed fiber double braids. The way the buries interlock within each other seems bomber.

Phil, those were easier instructions than Samsons to do a covered eye for a bury only, or tuck-bury splice.
I saw two methods from search, first have cover on the side, which would indicate a class 2 splice, and others are buried.

If you decide to sell it whole let me know.

Sure but you'll need the 3.5 fid bury with this.. I'd go with the tuck splice and a chafe sleeve in the eye.. Just milk up the cover and whip like a naked eye splice.

Well, after looking at pictures more, the buried cover looks to have stitching for a double braid, and one site calls it a double braid, might want to contact them.

I did email them. Still waiting on a reply. If I don't hear back I'll give them a call. They are local, relatively speaking, to my area.
