Climbers for Christ

Did you notice that in the translations of the Assyrian cuniform tablets found, that it shows that the Assyrians mounted expeditions to Ararat?

“Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many” Mathew 24:11

“For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.” Revelation 22:18-19

Is this about trump? He is certainly guilty of trying all that altering the book stuff.

James Talarico Delivers Sermon Against Christian Nationalism

Not sure if this was already posted; sorry if it was. Either way, I think it's worth a listen:

Man, I am a long time athiest, but I have been to a few dozen sermons, and this might be the best I've heard. Thanks J

Yeah, me too (atheist), but he almost had me signing up. Because of recent history, I kept waiting for him to segue into some kind of biased harangue--but he never did.

He sounds like my parents, whose informal religion I always considered to be Humanism. I'm not sure why it's so hard for folks to talk like this all the time.

That's not a sermon and he's not a pastor. He's a politician and this is a political speech delivered at the front of a church.

I did not know that (if it's true), but it does not change my opinion of the sermon's value. (In any case, I could only wish that more politicians spoke like this.)

I contend that followers of every religion would benefit from his words. Conversely, if your religion does not promote such "apolitical thinking," perhaps it's time for a change.

PS: The article states that he's been studying theology since 2022, which pretty much refutes your claim. Moreover, it seems that in that short time he's learned more about humanity that many theologians.

To learn more about Christian Nationalism, I suggest you might read "The Power Worshipers" by Katherine Stewart. That movement is entirely political and has very little to do with God's teachings or mercies.
