Trees from a distance

So, this is what I get from google. I feel like the trunk is the giveaway anyway, so I will do the trunk reveal tonight if nobody just gets it right away.
 
I had to use Google Maps for this tree, but it's right next to one of my long-time friend's house. I know these are more common in other states, but I rarely see them around here, and never this big. The spread is at least twice the height, so it demands to be seen as you round this corner. Buzzboard 2nd tree.jpg
 
Indeed. Southern Catalpa, AKA "Cigar Tree". I've also heard it called a "Bean Tree" but I don't know how accurate that is. In any event, @ThatsNotMaple it's your turn to post a tree.
Southern catalpa has a pretty narrow range, while Northern catalpa is more common- they are not easy to distinguish from one another - fwiw.

Catalpa (also sometimes spelled Catawba) is one of the few trees that keeps the indigenous (Cherokee, in this case) name, not just for the common name but also the Latin. Love these trees!
