Did TuffBurger actually DISCONTINUE the dual-rope bridge on TreeMotion?

The new TMotion saddles have ONE bridge. The EVO is either not listed at all or SOLD OUT

Someone's gonna havta explain it to me LIKE I'M FOUR... why in God's name would they take away one of the coolest features of my saddle? (Which I love so much)

Had my EVO since 2019. Best saddle ever. I attach to the dual rope bridge, and/or leg rings, almost every job I do. Why the hell would I wanna pull myself up shifting sideways LIKE A CRAB out of the ocean, using leg rings or side rings, when I can attach my positioning lanyard to the other rope bridge and pull myself to my next crotch in a perfect center of balance? Not to mention when I need 2 TIP's that are opposite each other.

The discontinuation of the 2-rope bridge is so stupefying, it may take its place alongside other mysteries of the universe I struggle with... such as how bio-boys are allowed to compete in girl's athletics? And why more and more people seem to drive in the middle of the road, afraid to move over? I could go on...

The forward dees on the new TreeMo's are designed to run 2 rope bridges if you choose, but Tuefelberger has decided to save $1 and include only one with the new Pro and Essential.

LMFAO!!!! Yeah, when you visit their website you can see, they just a wee company, struggling to survive.

And, that's xtra hilarious to me cause they put the same expensive para-grade snaps on both leg cuffs as on the waist cinch.

Both of which i NEVER use. i simply step thru them ha. they coulda saved $50 production cost and ditched THOSE things.

this is really good to know because I love this harness and seeing only 1 bridge made absolut NO sense.

they have the longer one here at arbsession.

Btw careful using that pulley like that for a bridge anchor. I don't think it's meant for that. Can stress the cheek plates in ways they aren't meant to be stressed.
TY for showing me ArbSession

As for the caution, always love how we look out for each other here. (y)

But I don't see how. If I twist, (ha! sorry, WHEN...) the rope bridge mitigates lateral movement by... being made of rope. Plus, I only 150lb. I'm not gonna violate that structure anytime soon.

It's interesting that Petzl essentially knocked-off the Evo double-bridge design on the Sequoia, then Teufleberger gives up? Only the blackbox insiders know for sure but I'm guessing that they're working on a new double-bridge design. Wouldn't make sense to cede the lead to Petzl on this feature.

well, you can buy the s.light or nowadays the essential which does not have snaps…

It's close. But the Essential doesn't even have a snap on the cinch. Really? for $500?? Sounds like SHRINKflation to me. That's a little too 'cheap-out' for me there, Mr. TuffyBerg. One of my initial complaints about TreeMotion was the waist belt loses it's sizing. I often have to re-adjust it tighter. I actually pick it up w/out touching the waist sling so that I don't pull on it till i'm ready to clip it. It happens way too often. I now am trying tight wraps of red electrical tape around the belt directly behind the para-snap to help keep it sized.

And yeah I've mentioned this before, but I'm still peeved that my expensive SOTArt TUFFBERG harness shipped out in a cheap Amazon-esque bubble bag. The crush from transport put permanent creases in the leg loops which still interfere with placing my feet thru. To this day. (i think) Yes I COULD choose to use the snaps, that I oil & clean every few years, and leave closed. I put on my gaffs after the harness is on. I like that i'm putting this in print cause i'm actually kinda an idiot for not using them.

Also - the Essential is missing the rear attachment point, but maybe that I can live without. Only used that once in all the years I've had it, although I attribute that mostly to laziness. Cause working w/my primary line twisted and loose around my body, while tied in somewhere else, is annoying and I should re-attach behind me more often. But that can be a PITA

The 'Lite' is overall skimpier than mine, so I immed. dismissed that as an option. Cause 'Thickness Has Its Priviliges'. Ha. Besides the TreeMotion is so very light to begin with. No reason to make it any lighter, IMHO. Comfort is primary, and for comfort you need wideness.

Ha, the folded TM leg pads. You need a plus size store mannequin to put your harness on when it's not being used, tighten those straps up and smack that leg pad fold while yelling, "Nachbegen, nachbegen!". No I'm not encouraging you to kink-out, just being practical ;-) If you try this solution please shoot video and send it to Teufleberger.

You probably saw my mods to my regular TM and my SuperLite harness belt buckle. Replaced it with a rated buckle I can tighten or loosen at any time while climbing, and it stays set to where I set it. I believe that the current TM Pro belt buckle can be adjusted more easily while closed. I've never owned an Evo so I'm perfectly happy with attaching my second bridge to the front D's ;-)

Superlite belt buckle mod, rated stainless buckle sewn in. Tail of the belt webbing tucks back through the buckle, very secure. Harness never slips down.

I'm always expecting to be disappointed about some aspect of tree gear, it's all about adjusting expectations and finding a way to make it work well if necessary.

I like my tm pro but imo they definitely cut some corners to save a few dollars on features I liked with my 2018. Not shipping with 2 bridges, and getting rid of the rear life support rated ring both made me sad. Yea I could live without the quick release buckles on the legs I barely ever use them and half the time when I do, I forget to close them up until I'm part way up the next tree.

That is a weird feeling when you start climbing with leg strap clasps open ;-)

So to be clear there is no recall. You made a mistake so please fix the thread. Teufelberger is one of the best company's we got.
Love Teufleberger tree gear. Nevertheless, critique is useful to them, helps them make their gear even better.

I missed where a recall was claimed in this thread, I'll look back though it. There were the prematurely rotting alloy D's I think in the Evo, Never heard any public followup from Tuefelberger. Haven't heard any new reports of that continuing to happen with the Essentials or Pro harnesses. Assuming a manufacturing/sourcing change happened to fix that problem.

I believe they were originally getting their hardware from dmm and switched to someone else on the 2 newest models.

Holy God itz a good thing i wasn't sipping coffee when i read that. Jesus thatz funny. I don't speak German or Swedish or whatev, but... STILL FUNNY!!!!

OMG. 'if U do, send the vid to Tuffberg...' :p:ROFLMAO:
"ACTION NEWS: This just in... PA resident accused of sending inappropriate BDSM video to multi-national corporation..."

The red electrical tape I wrapped around the waist belt folds (in back of the para-snap, in front of the elastic cinch) is helping to hold the adjustment fast. Now that colder temps are here, my layers tend to bunch up in somewhat different ways, but it's pretty tight no matter which fluffy shirt I choose. No longer slipping now AFAIC tell.

Yes, DMM made all the 'green - OK for life support' rings and associated connectors on my 2019 Evo.

I take full advantage of all the config's the Evo affords me. I use the side rings, leg rings, and both bridges on most working climbs. And sometimes I use 3 of the 4 attch. points @ a time. It's a crazy versatile harness and I totally dig all those options. I have a mini 'biner that holds the ring on the bottom bridge off 2 the side if i'm not using it. the ring on the top bridge just falls off 2 the side when I connect with my CMI dual-attachment pulley.

Awhile ago M Chisolm showed me (posted pics) some pretty nice chainsaw attachment clips, and that may B an upgrade I'm still gonna do. But the closed screw ovals I put on mine are working out OK. They move out of position a little, but closed means there's no way they can snag a rope or branch or anything (usually when I'm twisted into a Philly pretzel position and i'm blind on that side to fix it), so I'm sticking w/them 4 now.

The other day I undid my leg loop snaps and stepped into the harness (gaffs on) very hastily & casually, ready to take full advantage of the open snaps I never use... and I was cursing  cause it's NOT THAT EASY. I still havta route my feet in front of/thru the front leg straps. Hadda take it off again. Oh well, I'm gonna continue to TRY to use them, cause I prefer to put on the spikes before the harness.

Ahem, of course a MonkeyBeaver I or II would fix all this performing art gettin' into the Teuf . . . :-) Donning and doffing ease is actually one of the things I most like about the MB, that and the nice big legpads that felt like sittin' on the sofa yesterday up in an elm while the ground help looked for stuff . Cheers
Been thinking about getting a mb as well, I'm thinking the one as I here it's got a bit more back support than the 2 since it's not quite as squishy.

To be clear, both the MB OG and the 2.0 offer stellar back support. The OG does it though a more traditional rigid back pad, while the 2.0 does it through the adjustment at the top of the back pad, which can really suck the back pad in tight to the lower back. I have a very small waist and I have come to really love this feature on the 2.0, while my buddy who is a bit thicker loves the OG. I think body type is gonna be a big factor in which harness is better.
