I’m sick of the military surplus suspenders on my Treemotion (actually been sick of them since installation).

Upgrade needed!

Probably going with Monkey Beaver but wanted to know what you guys like. I have a biner and throw bag positioned like a grenade and I also hook my SAKA bungee end to my current suspenders so hooks/points of attachment are preferred. Also, I do lots of srt so if the suspenders could double as a chest tether for the Akimbo, that’d be awesome.

What are you using to keep your saddle up?

I would get MB. My foreman has that com o and loves it. I tried his TM with MB suspenders two days ago cuz my gear was all put away and we just needed to tie a rope up in a tree, and I was jealous. I can't wait to finish wearing out my Sequoia to go with something like that.
Does he have 2 back straps on his suspenders or just one single middle strap?

I would definitely get the 2.0 as well. The suspenders for the Sequoia are barely functional, especially the ones I have from before they sold an option that didn't have the stupid chest ascender that is totally useless for anything I have attempted with it.

What are the ideal applications and advantages of using suspenders? I've read use when climbing with a big saw would be one. Do folks use them for pruning too?

I'm just too skinny for how tall I am, and my saddle's always riding low on me otherwise, even with just a pruning saw and some other odds and ends I like to keep handy. I have a size 0 Sequoia cinched all the way down.

For me it helps keep the saddle in place during a climb, maybe it’s the shape of my hips.. I also like the my chest tether is right there integrated into the suspenders, not a separate thing to keep track of…. The MB has a whistle built into the clip which could be good for catching someone’s attention on a noisy jobsite. It is also nice for when you’re gearing up/getting into the saddle, it just rests on your shoulders while you position everything else:rain gear, insulation, etc etc. I’ve noticed that since I’ve used suspenders the fatigue we experience climbing is subtly different and lessened…. I can’t really explain that any more, or why, I think it’s just some subtle shift of weights/muscle awareness I don’t have to give energy to…,IDK.

I borrowed the Matt Cornell suspenders from the original version of the saddle. They're now hanging my 1.0 MB.
That said, I'm planning to "upgrade" to MBs and return the suspenders to my Cornell.

^^^ Chris hit the nail on the head here. That and they shine when slinging a full sized saw aloft. Weather it be a 50cc, 70cc, or 80cc classed saw. I haven't hung anything bigger since having my 80cc Dolmar.

I suffer from noassatall (pants and saddles slide off my backside). Even in gearless rec climbing, the suspenders are a huge help.

I don’t have to take a 395xp up a tree often but it would be impossible for me without suspenders.

For that price I would certainly hope so.
Yeah, really! Not so cheap! Well, American designed and made and August has taught me much through his videos. It’s easy to appreciate what he’s doing.

I’m kinda thinking that they will be the last set I buy as they should go 20 years as long as my next saddle is compatible. Looking at it in the long run, I’ll be paying 60 cents a month to have reliable suspenders.
