Looking for Trango Cinch

What dont you like about the glide?
Hey man what’s up. This is William, I met u up in Minneapolis with Frank Schafer and Jon like 5 years ago. Are u still climbing?

I like the glide when in a good position for it to operate smoothly. I’ve noticed that if there’s a tight bend being placed on the rope and cam with my full weight in suspension, like an mrs situation and also when I’m up close to a limb it’s hard to get it to engage. I know it’s not designed for those situations but I find myself there. Maybe I haven’t given it a good break in period I’m just not digging it. I like the positioner better. Recently started using my trango cinch and my go to right now and hitch cord and pinto.

Hey William, I remember you. I'm out of the industry professionally but still climb a few times a month. Its time to replace some gear and I don't have the patience to fiddle with hitches anymore. I want to just tie in and go, so I'm looking at mechanicals.

Well u can’t go wrong with the positioner. However even that can be hard to engage as well while in suspension anlthough easier to break friction than the glide. Even the glide isn’t that terrible, just certain functions annoy me. The hipster is also a good choice.

I'll chime in on this as well. On a recent sap job, the cam cover popped off and jammed the whole device. When I had time to open it later to fix it, the rope was a bugger to get out. Now the cam cover is looser and more prone to slipping off again. Notified Notch and was blown off, which is particularly telling since I used to do product testing for them.

With all the work u did with them, I’m shocked!! When I reached out about the spring action on my foot ascender I was also blown off. I have a glide for sale used four times lol.

I’ll let you know. I’m getting one to try before I buy on Saturday
Plz do ! I'm getting so crazy about Cinch's relatively streight on a rope with in a cam . Virgo looks just same as Cinch within a mechanisms but I don't know both of them . I've never had chance and experiences in both. If I can get some reviews from person like you who already have experiences with Cinch would be so great!

I’m trying the Vergo and safeguard on Saturday. I’ll see if either are as good as the cinch

Cinch alternative Trango Virgo is on a market right now . Is there any significant differences compared with Cinch ?
So the trango Vergo operates just like the cinch except for some few minor differences and it’s rope diameter specifications. I used it on 10mm htp and 10.5mm nylon/poly line. It works really nice in all of the scenarios that I was annoyed with about some other adjusters, such as in suspension mrs and also super close to large diameter limbs. So, returning the try before you buy and ordered one from moosejaw.

Oohh... Thank you for the update.
I have the cpt hook kit and was gonna use 9.0 mm rope with it or use with my main rope blue moon 11.7 mm . That's right it isn't same as Cinch's allowance...

That's going to be tough (impossible) to find a handled belay device that will work with that rope diameter range. 11.7mm cannot be stuffed in to a Cinch for example.

Vergo spec look s perfect for your 9mm hook line. What are you thinking you want to do with a belay device on your 11.7mm?

I was hoping to use it with both blue moon rope and cpt Hook's 9mm rope . But I guess blue moon is bit too fatty for it so I'd digress. LoL Yes , thinking to use Vargo Trango with 3 to 1 configuration or with knee and foot ascenders.

If u just need progress capture for a 3:1 then the Ct Cric might work for you. Not blue one but your 9mm for sure

Ah !? That's looks very nice.
If I knew it much much earlier I would have bought it . Maybe in a future.
But I already have progress capture devices. So ... I was just looking for good safety belay device to use with it.

I'm using an hhxf with an 8mm hollow core hitch cord on 9mm htp for my captains hook, it widths well and with a different cord maybe the same depending on your weight it'll work with your bluemoon as well.

Wow You have hhxf ? That's tight ! That's from Sir . Richard Mumford , right ? LoL
Way Too Cool. (y)
I just have an hh2 on blue moon . Or RR pro. I just don't like the rattling sounds from RR pro . so I do use hh2 more than RR pro But I do use both alternatively .
I guess the best set up is with bulldog bone or zigzag with rope wrench on main line I guess.
One day if I can come up with good grip of money I would go for very familiar design to my mind of Bulldog bone but not at this moment with recreational climber position like myself. Can't deduct equipment costs on my Tax . LoL
