Show off them splices

I weighed in on that in another thread... yeah, it is 10mm epicord spliced with class1 splices. A no no according to the fiber gods... yet also sold by multiple companies... and is recommended in writing for another blend of similarity construxtion...armor prus....
The two cords are very similar, looks like different aramids though. Along with the Tendon Timber, the cores are Diamond braid, rather than the typical twill for hollow braids. Edelrid’s Tibor also has the same construction, I found out after taking the picture.

I'm really digging soft shackles right now for lots of things. Here's a Dynaglide soft shackle that I'm using to attach my throwline to my rope. All my throwlines have eye splices so I can just girth hitch the throw bag to them which makes things super quick. I put heat shrink tubing on the last inch of the rope, heat up a 16-penny nail and poke a hole through the rope and heat shrink tubing. Next I pull the soft shackle through the hole and just keep it there, using it the same way you might use an accessory carabiner. Tensile strength of this particular cordage is 800lbs so you're looking at about 1500lbs for this tiny soft shackle.

Beautiful!
But you need a microscope to build one of those.

Avid splicing blast from the past here..
I keep seeing the DrenalINE Splices or what look like SpLIFE's in this thread.
However, I've been asking & asking on here over a couple years now as to whether they will fit through a ZigZag/Zillion? The kind master of splicing @Brocky , once kindly suggested the SpLIFE fit through a spyderjack3... But i dont know how they differer in rope compatability, How about a PetzlZigZag or Zillion with the most current approved, whipped & published Drenaline SpLIFE? I've been absent for quote some & either need to buy a new SpLIFE DrenaLINE & roll the dice on fitment or attempt a SpLIFE on a somewhat clean, somewhat dirty Originally sewn Drenaline.

Please someone through me a bone or give a splice rack page reference.

My problem us, I keep coming across conflicting infos on backyard processes & OEM processes. I've also come across what looks like a serious disclaimer suggesting immediate retirement SpLIFE if it did not have traditional whipping around it.

I have a feeling many methods have changed on this cordage.. but i can't get any damn info on what's legit other than whipping disclaimers & T-Bergs instructions...

&I still don't know if its supposed to fit through the ZigZag or Zillion.

C@m i get some clarification here

McMasters has fabric heat shrink tubing, very thin, I thought it was flat webbing when I first got it. Looks to be very promising for a flexible replacement for the plastic.
Heart shrink Fabric tubing.. Yup..! You can find it all over the place in different sizes # places like Electricduct , Techflex, Etc.. with the exceptions of some stuff, the so called cutting edge accessories this market this industry tried to pass off to unknowing customers is obsurd.

It's been around for around some time through the original inventors probably at half the cost. I know you can even get it in Amazon. It's all Industrial, automotive, areospace related electrical accessories.

How about to details on the DrenalINE past i posted about an hour ago. Your the first person to come to mind

Take care-my friend.

I've been making soft shackles lately. I'm pretty happy with the design. I put a pull string in the core side of the noose, and leave short tails on the diamond knot. I whip lock the tails together to function as a pull tab to pull the knot through the noose instead of pushing the knot. It always seems easier to pull a rope instead of pushing it.

Looks good to me. That may not be excess cover vs. a kink fromt the tight cover strands opposite the extraction point. All of my larger eyes look similar, I am sure its there in the tight eyes, just not as noticable.

Thanks for the input! Actually after comparing to a Tachyon splice (which I didn't do myself), it seemed about the same.

I don't have my spicing book yet..I followed the only video I could find. And I think I made the holes in the ultra sling a little to big? Let me know. But ultimately I guess it's choice.

I'm waiting for my 5/8s tenex to come in then I'm going to try it with 2 fids. I bet I could have got it done a lot faster with fids.
But yeah going to be making another ultra sling thing time the holes just big enough to fit the ring plus just a little spare room. I already want to order more tenex it's addicting lol..

Have a good day everyone stay safe

Good guide to follow for splicing.
Cover all your basic splice needs.
