Bought a Treestuff Bag O’ Rope. Any good stuff here?

The small diameter yellow and green look like waterski ropes (yes, I have no knowledge of ropes). The two large ropes (white and yellow) are about 3/4" diameter. I'm hoping the skinny bluish one is something awesome.

Many thanks if you know off the top of your head. If you guess, I'll look up your guess to confirm or not.

The white rope looks like ArborPlex to me.

The small yellow rope is Ultrex, which is crazy strong. The black/green rope is Notch Hercules, which is basically rebranded Ultrex.

The the little bluish cord is a prusik cord; I believe it is Epicord.

The big yellow rope may be Polydine, but I’m not certain on that one.

The white rigging line definitely is 3/4" Arbor Plex.

Confirmed Arbor Plex

Little blue is likely epiCORD as far as I can tell.
EDIT: I measured this cord with my micrometer, and it is closer to 10 mm than 9.3 mm if you just touch the sides without any pressure. But 10 mm epiCORD is green, based on what I find on the Teufelberger website. I can definitely clamp the micrometer on there at 3/8" or even 9.3 mm, but have to apply a bit of pressure. Unless I learn more, am going to assume 9.3 mm.

I am definitely most excited about the Epicord.

Confirmed epiCORD 9.3 mm. Color variations aside, looks like it to me.

Thank you both so much!

Confirmed on both counts. 106 feet of the yellow Ultrex. I'd say this covers my $70 for the whole bag. About 100 feet or more of the Notch Hercules as well. Both look like popular winch lines.

Both measure about 9 mm if I round them out. Not sure if these are 5/16" or 3/8". Either way, incredible cord.

Yes, I would say that alone covers the cost of your bag. Both are popular winch lines, and can also be used to make a real lightweight balancing spider leg, or tagline.

I would guess by that measurement they’re probably 5/16”, as that stuff gets thinner quick if you pull on it, due to how loose the weave is naturally.

To sum it up as close as we can tell:

48' epiCORD 9.3 mm = $288
106' Yellow 5/16" Ultrex = $211
~ 100' Notch Hercules 5/16" = $209
~40' 5/8" Arbor Plex = $160
~40' 5/8" Notch Kraken = $53

I know pricing for some of this is heavily discounted if you buy specific lengths. Also who needs 40 foot lengths of rigging rope? Me, hopefully, someday. But overall I'm really happy with this little gamble, especially the hitch cord.

One of the better BoR I've seen IF you can find a use for any of it.

The epicord is great stuff, but most guys want spliced eyes.

The Ultrex seems too short to be a useful winch line. Ditto the Hercules. Light rigging slings maybe?

Arborplex is junk in any size.

Kraken is good, but that's a short chunk. Slings are about the only option.

Still a pretty good haul on terms of dollar value, not so sure about real world value though.

I agree, mostly. epiCORD might find favor with the Hitch Hiker aficionados. In fact, that is what I see as the "high end" hitch cord sold as a Hitch Hiker accessory on WesSpur.

The winch lines are plenty long. Warn winch synthetic line comes 80 feet standard.

I would get some medium rigging rings and splice up some rigging slings.
Playing right into their hands..."for a relatively cheap price, we'll sell you some of our cutoffs that are too short to sell for anything else so that you'll need to come back to buy more stuff to make those lengths useful"

(I'm not saying I disagree with you...just funny how something cheap gets more costly quickly if you let it)

I know that I can find a good use for all those ropes. I also like splicing my own tools, so that's an extra good deal to me. I can actually think of multiple uses for most of those ropes, and I am a sucker for a bet with good odds, so I'm likely gonna roll those dice soon. Thanks for sharing.
