Salewas no doubt. I have had the mountain trainers, rapace
and just got a pair of Raven's that were on sale at significant savings. Like island arb I don't spike on them, have loggers for that

I have to say this, boots are very personal and depends on what type of trees you climb daily and whether you are doing loads of removals in spikes or a mixed bag. I do about 6 to 10 large removals yearly, so I am in the category of mostly pruning and small removals without spikes. Even my large removals that exist here because of the shape and spread spikes are only needed on the wood which gets taken with a knuckleboom. That is my take, hence my choice. Others will have a different perspective. No right or wrong here.

Asolo elbrus for me, they have a composite shank so stiff enough for long days on spurs but the rubber is pretty soft so they grip well on their own and, enough if a heel to keep everything in place.

Salwa are pretty narrow from my experience I had a pair or two the quality was great but I ended up having to give them away.
I'd try some of the less classic looking boots nicks are a really good bit but the soles are very hard and the general design at least imo is going to lend itself far more to gaffing and ground work than sport climbing

Removals wear out boots… slopes wear out boots also. I couldn’t get a year out of a pair of arbpros but I love the Haix AirPower. Much more durable, with chainsaw protection and water proof, and not huge.
I have the Hiax Protectors which have the higher level cut protection, and steel not composite toe. I wonder if there is saw protection in the toe of the AirPower.

Also, wonder if they are resoleable. Anyone know?

Asolo Neutron. Wear them every day. I always have 2 pair...switch every day to let them fully dry out. I wear them until the Vibrum soles are worn to smooth - almost no damage to the upper.

I climb in the often. I do have a pair of Drayer Trango Light that I wear for bigger/more difficult climbs....or when the Asolos are muddy. They have better grip and fit into tight spots better. They are not nearly as comfortable on the ground so I change pretty quick after landing.

I haven't put on spikes in 2-3 years...

@Vicente
It turns out that logger style boots can be found from every working boots companies . Nick's aren't exception. But the price range are just outrageous. For what it is, it should be priced at much more balanced and reasonable price. Other working boots brand big names boots are much more reasonable price range . But then, they import materials somewhere else from other countries to cut it's cost down and assemble with in states. . The biggest cattle cow country, biggest beef meat consumption country call U.S. doesn't have good cow hide leather materials with decent price ? C'mon ... Someone somewhere at some level is being too greedy to my mind. And if it's small shoe making company then they don't need that mane hides and literally they can do thier own tanning process in small batches to cut the costs .
It's just doesn't make any sense to my mind. But what do I know . LoL
Then I've found Northern Star Gravel gear logger boots. Those are the cheapest and fairly decent working boots you can find. Price is unbelievable .
And Yes , as you say the sole is too stiff and it's suited towards more ground works. I do agree.

Socks: Merino wool. I've become a little bit of a sock snob in that regard....but good ones last a long time, so they really aren't as expensive as the price tag leads you to think. They feel great! I look for light/mid weight socks. Something that is about the thickness of "regular" cotton socks.

Darn Tough (just a hair too thick for summer, if I had my way).
Smart Wool
Got a pair of Red Head at Bass pro, that I can't find anymore.
Probably my favorite are some People Socks I bought at least 5-6 years ago. 6 pair originally. I think I'm down to 4, but they aren't even threadbear. Unfortunately, they don't make them anymore. They ones I've gotten are nice, but a little too heavy for summer.

I’ve had the protectors as well.
My understanding is the saw protection is on the toe of the AirPower as well. It bloody better be, anyway.

You can send any Haix boots back to them to be resoled. My protectors were quite evenly and thoroughly worn so I skipped that option, plus was excited for something with a lighter profile.

It's common sense and this is everyone knows that already but just for the reminder that When you are going to wear a pair of those thick Merino Wool socks with climbing boots it is good idea to guy a 1/2 in larger size shoes in both in length & width to accommodate it's socks thickness when you are choosing new pair of boots. If not then when you wear those thick Merino Wool socks with it then it's gonna be too tight for your feet. So , when you going to buy a new pair of boots it's better off buy a Merino wool socks first and wear it then find your suitable sized boots .

The grip6 wool socks are really nice I just got some a month or two ago, price is super fair especially considering they come with a lifetime warranty. I wear a grip6 belt as well, the work one very comfortable absolutely nothing sticks out to get snagged on gear or anything else when you're just walking around. I have had the belt replaced once by them. I messaged them on Facebook in am with pictures before going up a tree, can't back down to 2 messages one asking what my order number was the second being don't worry about it we found your info from your profile and it's on it's way. All their products are made in the US as well. Grip6 has a great sale going on if anyone wants to check out their products.

Dear @Vicente ...

The last post you've just posted on this thread was just fantastic .

But I have an very very deep question regarding with ... About Socks .

Because I stumbled with same one liner line on their websites and on it's package about this line ...

" Life time guarantee"
a catch phrase.

Now , I kinda understand that if it for the belt....

But I've seen it on a pair of Socks . I mean, how one can guarantee for life on Socks ?

I really don't understand .
If you know what that means, plz.... explain to this empty gurd head of mine. Thank you.

They will replace it if you wear them out not really that hard to understand just don't lose them and you're good. Darn tough has the same warranty but their socks are more expensive, they also do more patterns weaves and models, grip6 are mostly pretty similar pattern and less color choices which I'm sure keeps their cost down.

Anybody ever take Darn Though up on their promise? I've heard they are true to it.

If I felt they came apart early I'd try... I haven't worn a pair out yet, so haven't. But if they just get old, I expect everything to be done at some point and wouldn't send them in...
