CMI Holdway

Link to clearance sale price is above.

I just picked one up for $75.

What is a good bend radius and fiber on the sling for anchoring to that shackle?

Yea I'll just grab one that price is too good

@Chris Schultz I used mine yesterday rigging done decent sized 5" diameter 20 ft long down over a house using the holdway with my new ftc micro bollard it together and the grcs with a block to pull them sideways and lift, I also used it for some rigging on another removal mostly as a butt check. It worked great takes the place of a more expensive block at the sale price which was nice because I only have 2 bigger blocks. I just ordered a second one should've just ordered 2 to start.

What are you anchor slinging it with?
For the long limbs I did a Basel anchor with 9/16 kraken using a circus bowline, so I could set and retrieve it from the ground on the small removal I used the same dead eye with a prussic using one of the htp rigging loops I use with my little pulley the pieces weren't big maybe a few hundred lbs but I wanted the extra friction not that there's a lot. I have some 5/8 tenex slings I'll use when I'm rigging in the tree haven't decided if I'll use a ring with it or not yet.

Darn, I've wanted one of these for quite some time. Now it's on sale but I need to replace my truck in this current market, and stay on top of bills.

Ya win some and loose some. All is good.
Following for the reviews, none the less.

If you can stay on top of the bills, I'd grab it 75$ probably isn't going to make or break buying a truck and if it is I'm sure someone here will grab it off you for that price not sure what I'd do with 3 but I'm sure I could figure something out if no one else buys it. They've got f2 shembiners for 13$ two of those and the holdway gets you right into free shipping.

Agree with you, and on the other half of that dozen, every $100 on a down payment I can come up with helps with my monthly payment. It is hard to keep up with bills with no wheels. Especially being self employed. Not to mention ..... winter's coming quick here in the NE.

Because it doesn't say ART?

LOL just joking.
My smiley emojis are gone or I'd pop in an ear to ear grin.
haha maybe it would help :)

i just dont understand what the benefit is over rings. sure the bent radius is good for the lowering line but its terrible for the sling (wich sees almost twice the force)

am i not seeing something? i hope not because i would need to throw some gear away to make room..

It's mid line attachable, if I remember correctly, and its a way for the climber to add friction control. Rather it be solo rigging or taking over the load for a single groundie, Of course it's not made for extreme stuff but handles decent weights.

Curious too. Midline attachable sounds nice but it won’t be as sleek as a ring. I got one of the 20k lb pulleys which are great for winching redirects and if we aren’t stoked on the Holdway the slick pin shackle will definitely get used. Those shackles are the business.
