What's wrong with this picture? An ad for safety violations.

How many safety violations and unsafe work practices do YOU see?
This is the actual tree service page photo from a contractor-listing website.

*Well, no hard hat. (To be fair, onna ground I don't always wear it either. But most of the time during bucking I do)

*He could be standing a little more tudda side, rather than behind, the saw.

*There's a rope thatz just begging to trip him up lying @ his feet

but i like his balanced stance and his grip onna saw

Devil's advocate - maybe his brain is on hyper safety alert and he uses super conservative sawing practices, never seen a kickback in his life, actually scared of the saw, never ever back chained or bored (too scary!)

Not saying that's true, just a different style - brain safety. Look how far he's keeping his body from the cut. Got the saw riding the dogs.

Don't interpret me as anti PPE :)

Does nobody see the drawstring from his hoodie about to get pulled into the saw?!?! Wtf? And that stance is terrible for your back. Squat down and get more in line.
I would never want to have the TrioBrake that Husqvarna makes for the Euro market, but the guy in the demo video has fantastic technique. Check it out:
Skip the first two minutes of product description.

That looks absolutely horrible I don't see how a saw with it could be practical except for cutting wood on a stand.

Like I said, I would never want that on my says, but the point of my original comment was that his stance for bucking logs on the ground, which is a thing many of us do often I think, is the correct stance to save your back and use your legs and core. His limbing technique is also on point.

That said wouldn’t survive it’s encounter with me. 2 minutes in and it wouldn’t be fit for a wheel chock.
