Trees from a distance

You take a trip west @colb ?

I did, ended up near Lake Arrowhead yesterday. Lots of Stellars jays, acorn woodpeckers, ravens, and pretty sure I heard an eagle... I grew up in CA with a swath of south-facing chaparral behind our home. Those manzanita burnt to further someone's gender reveal party a few years ago. This one seemed tall enough to plausibly call it a tree.

Certainly a topic for a new thread.

Summon @JD3000 and @macrocarpa to give their thoughts. I know there are other public sector employees here too...they've both made the move private to public. I went public to private (also traditional forestry to Arboriculture...).

Does NY have an urban forestry State program. In OH, there would be urban foresters with the state to help the community through that process...
Probably best for a new thread, but here is an old post on this topic. I’m in a municipal position now but once again weighing my options to go back to self-employment. The freedom and work life balance and being able to do what I love most about being an arborist versus security and benefits for the family = the struggle is real

Ok guys resurrecting this thread for the New Year! Location of this tree is Columbus, OH.
