Roe v Wade overturned

Clear this up for a high school dropout, the overturning of this law now gives the states the right to make abortion a crime or ban abortion, correct?

Correct. Or anything in between. Some states will be very pro-abortion, others will essentially ban it. Still others will set some agreed upon time after which abortions will be illegal. (10 weeks, 15 weeks, whatever)

So if this is an important issue to you, simply convince your community (and then a majority of voters in your state) that abortion is awesome. If you detest abortion, do the opposite. More local democracy, less federal control. This isn’t the end of abortion. It’s the end of federally mandated abortion. And that’s ok.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure births have occurred in the US since 1973. I don't think Roe v Wade made abortions mandatory. Access to abortion, yes. Although in practice, access to abortion is anything but widespread. It's been restricted like a chainsaw with a clogged spark arrestor.

Personally, I think some things should be federally mandated. My ruby red state might bring back segregation if they could.

I will agree with less federal control in regards to 9 UNELECTED and PARTISAN officials having the power to set legal precedent for an entire country. And that doesn't apply to just the US. It's here too.

A true democracy would allow such divisive issues as abortion, gun control, health care, etc. to be put to a national referendum. The results of that I could at least accept, even if I didn't agree.

Just a quick shoutout to vasectomies. Pretty cheap and effective birth control option. IUDs are a great option for some. Both would be free in my dream world. Sex is fun and we should all keep doing it. It’s the closest you come to touching the fabric of the universe.

Did you catch the part where dipshit Clarence Thomas thinks access to contraception, gay rights, and same-sex marriage should also be reviewed by the Nazgul.....I mean SCOTUS

National referenda often subject the minority to the tyranny of the majority. Hitler was nationally elected. I’d rather have regional elections. I’d prefer not to be governed by the laws and norms of California, for example.

What about the 9 unelected judges who not only forced Roe on the country for 50 years but also pulled their legal justification for doing so out of thin air? Nothing about abortion or privacy in the Constitution. But you already know that.

Take your laws off my guns and put them on your daughter. Her boyfriend can bounce though, it was just a bit of fun, like the president said: “grab em by the pussy”

13 or so states have trigger laws automatically banning abortion effectively as of now. Not to mention all the other laws that site this ruling are now on shaky ground, not to mention a sever blemish to the 14 amendment
