WebDesign: Allow viewing all threads/posts w/one page. Replying comments like FaceBook or better?

@Dan Cobb It'd have a realtime search feature, via the built in search engine that almost every browser has, to find keywords on any page. Skimming and scanning by means of "a lot of scrolling" would be another option for old school researchers.

To create such a feature is an additional option, default would leave the site unchanged.
It would create diversify features of the site, make it more competitive among other sites.
It'll only be a code change that would duplicate itself for the rest of the site.

Lol, a vote, so many things happen as planned that way... (')(')

Oh, well, I tried to have input, to add beneficial use of the site. =!
You can press CTRL+F to search using your web browser. Any other extra feature will need to be coded so if you want to donate some money we can develop it

Yeah, my pre-tree climbing career, in what seems another lifetime was as a "User Interface Designer". @Willber we are talking about two possible modes for viewing 'Buzz threads. As discussed a "paging" mechanism 1/2/3/4/5 as currently used or a continuous scroll. Pros and cons for both. Likely this forum is built on an existing app infrastructure, those defaults (the thread paging) are baked in and would require some cash to pay a software developer to customize. Since we get treebuzz as a free service the bar has to be pretty high to do customization beyond what's available out of the box.

That said, user interface design is frequently a compromise between worse and slightly better. The paging mechanism is a strong solution and is the default in every user forum application out there. The example you're showing where the user can choose how many "items" to display per page is oriented towards product images and links. That's a very predictable scenario where server load and display speed is dealt with easily. I think someone else mentioned it, on a ten page 'Buzz thread the potential image loading is significant for the server and user when the entire thread is loaded every time someone clicks on a topic. The current paging mechanism solves that and is easy enough to navigate. The 'Buzz search engine is much more robust then your browser search function.

You've already noticed that you frequently get slow loading on the forum. That may indicate that the current 'Buzz server is somewhat challenged with the current load. Adding "full thread scrolling" would make that problem worse.
