Back in print finally, after 5+ years on hiatus, The Fundamentals is once again available in paperback, with a new foreword by August Hunicke. I have been working on this project for well over a year, it was so. much. more. work than I could have ever bargained for, restoring a book from a scanned copy back into a physical copy... Anyway, it was a labor of love, and I'm so glad that it's done... this is truly the Bible of Tree Work... essential reading for anyone and everyone who works with trees... I hope you'll check it out - Patrick at educatedclimber.com

Thanks for your work on this Patrick, I ordered my copy a few days ago when I heard about it, and should be here soon.

There's Jer, then there's everyone else....

Here is thee still 7foot in diameter at 150ft up poster that Gerald Beranek did (he is the one with the brown cast on right foot from crane outrigger set down on it weeks before). Good thing it slowed him down long enough for the camera to catch! He is using a classic Stihl 090 , with chains binding to avoid splitting high and low over the cut made on old time springboards, while also tied in.

Thanks a lot for doing this. I tried the digital copy but just couldn’t do it. I’ve lusted after a paper copy for so long now.

Mr Beranek’s usefulness cannot be understated. A teacher from the golden age of the internet and before we are lucky to have.

A master vs all us mere mortals. We pale in comparison. Well except @Reg and you @rico.

Now that is some impressive shit. Quite the ground crew to move that much oak and keep up with 38 cuts

Jerry B is an awesome guy for sure. One of my good mentors and friends. I am writing an upcoming article about him, which will be in the TCIA Magazine this fall/winter.

I'll put a link to it here.
Everytime I read your posts I am drawn to your avatar...Love it, and am curious where it came from...
