Neck tether suggestions?

Greetings all just venturing into the srt world at the moment the lanyard over the shoulder deal isn’t really doing it and a bud of mine suggested a neck tether. I was wondering if I could stir this hornets nest for ideas.
Thanks all,
Jack

This is mine. Super easy to make, mine is just a piece of nice soft 12-strand with a small prussik around both legs. A Schwabish works best in my experience so far but you can use really small cord (5mm even) for the prussik. I attach it to a small biner. In a pinch, you can slide the prussik right off the end to prevent choking(which I see as really unlikely).

You can tie one if the cord you use is small enough but it will be hard to fit two double fishermen's knots from anything larger than 6mm on an XSRE

I think this would work it’s a little cumbersome but pretty much the same thing just some randomish I knew I’d make use of what do you think?

Maybe I'm being paranoid, but I'm leery of anything around my neck that might snag, especially if I slid or fell. I use a large, crossed loop of webbing that I put my arms through to form a sort of chest harness.

It isn’t the cheapest option but I have found that a pair of suspenders with a chest strap across and a carabiner attached is the most comfortable to me. And I am not worried about getting choked if something weird happens.

I really liked the idea of an open loop and prussik and finally got around to making one with what I had on hand. Blue moon and some 6mm tech cordage. Sliding double fisherman's knot captures the SMC ring. Rock X carabiner to tend my climbing device. My knee ascender will clip into the ring.

That looks too Noose-ish to me.

A neck tether doesn't need to be very strong. So many tethers are made from small diameter elastic cord. Mine uses plastic toggle locks to adjust tension. I can pull on the neck look and get them to slip. The ends of my elastic are melted into arrow points so that they never catch inside the toggles. The part that goes around my neck is sleeved in a piece of tubular webbing so that the small diameter elastic cord doesn't cut or abrade my neck.

The position and length is easily adjustable.
Both ends are free to pull out if something snags the tether
Cost? $0.00 All of the parts were scavenged...excepting the biner.
