With all the things going on I took some time today to throw together a helmet cam video. Brought me back to my happy place. I forgot how much fun I had doing this!
As some of you know I started up a fun little arborist supply store called Arbsession.com and when I saw these Makita Top Handle Chainsaws at TCIA I saw a few key advantages:
-battery/batteries are under the saw
- same Makita batteries as the other products means they aren't just dedicated to one or two things
-Makita has been doing batteries for such a long time
-more wallet friendly
-layout of the saw is simple (no extra buttons/switches) just power on and release chain break

A few places that I found electric chainsaws excel:
-behind a chipper
-when you're in an awkward position in a tree and you just press a button for power
-out of a bucket (no drop starting)
-did I mention no drop starting?

I expect to find more.

Well anyways here is the video...

Thanks for posting Casey! This saw looks like the way to go for pruning. i see many benefits with an electric saw. Will you be caring them? Great catching up on Instagram this afternoon and putting a name and face to your Instagram page! Ps you should put you your first and last name under your Instagram page so the other arbs know who you are.

Yup we have them available on the website.

I'll look to add my name to the bio. I'd like to promote treebuzz as well.

Looks like it got the job done nicely. That tip tie on the big piece of dead wood came out beautiful! Nice hanging out with ya. (y)

So i picked up the Makita xlt 18volt a couple days ago for a big prune job i had this week. I have to say it was really nice to have this saw combined with my silky saw. For the small suckers i used the silky. But for all the dead wood 2 in and greater the Makita was nice to have on my hip. So light i didn't even notice it was there. The battery lasted for two big oaks. One was a co dominate red oak. The other was a white oak. Most of my cuts were between 2 and 3 inches of dead wood. had about 10 6in pieces of dead wood and i took two large live white oak limbs off that were 7in diameter. Looking to get the recoil lanyard for the saw and scabbard along with the bigger batterys from Casey! Arbsession
