How does Coronavirus COVID-19 alter our workflow?

Maybe this has all been planned out, and the outcome will be the liberation of humanity into a galactic society. Who could of imagined this would cause a crash the fossil fuel/ gas and oil and travel industry? Does the focus appear to be on Iran, China and the Vatican/Italy, for a reason? Might this be the pretense to some way bigger plan, perhaps the creation of a new world republic, combined with the release of hidden technologies like free clean energy, anti-gravity propulsion, medical cures and much more?

Tin Foil Hat? Maybe not so much....

No matter how much America may or may not dodge the Covid-19 bulllet, when countries like Germany will suffer 70% infection rates, and Italy (a country of 60 million) is completely shut down, we can't and will not dodge the very serious economic global downturn that will surely be coming to a neighborhood near you....

No, what I was doing was simply pointing out that we should not under estimate the potential damage that this virus could do to the world both physically and economically.

I also just assumed that John@TreeXP's "anti-gravity propulsion" and "galactic society" statements were slightly tongue cheek?

I'm concerned about how this will effect my work next couple months, it's going to be interesting to say the least.

I'm more concerned with how people will behave. Unfortunately we're probably going to see some weird misdirected vigilante behavior against innocents, gunfights over toilet paper or milk or beer, it could be anything like that but it's going to happen.

Okay erico, thanks for straightening that out.

The virus is here and here to stay. But what really freaks me out is what you just mentioned and more. I’ve watched enough zombie movies to realize the scariest aspect is fear

Dial back on the bong hits dude.

There is also the pesky little matter of the dead, dying ,and sick, and the global economy potentially going into a death spiral?
I count the global economic issue into the mass panic. Trying to keep my head cool, but besides the very likely potential of loosing elders to this, I think this is going to be the single biggest impact to my day to day

This isn't Ebola. What's the survival rate of CoVid patients? I'm still more concerned about being in an auto accident.

Ebola had different transmission characteristics, which didn't involve a two week period of transmission where the infected person could transmit it without knowing they were infected, so this is entirely new uncharted territory. The global impact is continuing to evolve and efforts to suppress and/or mitigate is becoming more difficult to contain, let alone stop or cure it. Containment is slowing the spread, but it's quickly getting out of hand, even if you think you are isolated and safe, at the moment. It's everybody's responsibility.

Economic recovery typically happens within a year following pandemics, historically speaking. So this isn't an economic death spiral, but large gatherings are over for now and while certain business sectors will suffer, it will also spawn new business opportunities, like home food delivery services, in ways that will speed up the recovery process.

Huge disruptions in trade, travel, business, and major world events will tend to have a very negative effect on markets and the global economy..

Having an utterly inept fool running our government certainly isn't giving the American people, or the world any confidence that this administration can deal with this epidemic...

Speaking of epidemics, remember that little virus that Trump told us 2 weeks ago would miraculously disappear in the spring? Well Dr Fuaci today told congresss that he is expecting between 70 million to 150 million American to eventually contract Covid-19. 150 million for fuck sakes..Thats nearly a 1/3 of the American population folks. If we go by the World Health Orgs estimate of a 3.4% mortality rate that means that we have the potential of seeing between 2,000,000-5,000,000 deaths in America.... Certainly nothing to sneeze at....
