How does Coronavirus COVID-19 alter our workflow?

I would be more concerned on the impact it has towards the economy rather than contracting it. Look at the stock market and if this virus has legs I would expect people to be a little more conservative with their disposable income. “Let’s put this project off until the dust settles.” I hope I’m wrong, but I’m anticipating some economic and social disruption in the near future. I know that I’m not going to be buying any new shiny equipment until this thing plays out. Like I said, I hope I’m wrong and I usually am at predicting the future , and weather , but I would consider the fact that this virus could have significant impacts to the country.

Don't worry... Dense Donald called up Sean Hannity to confirm that the "Corona Flu" is under control and that the death toll is just "fake numbers". Nothing to see, move along.
Here we go, you had to make it political. Less than 20 deaths in the US from the corona virus. The seasonal flu will kill between 30k and 60k people during the flu season. Yes, the media is playing this up and freaking people out.

Well, then... so it won't kill you, nobody has died (are the numbers fake, or not?) and the media isn't playing DOWN the influenza threat? There's no shortage of protective equipment, Amazon sellers weren't actually price gouging for what was available, Donald will magically speed up the trials for vaccines, SARS-Cov-19 is just "the sniffles", there's no need to quarantine anyone... it's all just fake news?

Thanks for correcting me on this. I suspected that all these new cases were just a conspiracy put out there by the folks that faked the Sandy Hook school shooting. I'll get back to my plans to raid Area 51 and steal a frozen alien.

Haha, sorry. I’m done. You’re an idiot.

I believe that one of the factors that has been driving the markets down is the blatant ineptitude that the Trump administration has thus far displayed concerning this virus, and all the disinformation/lies coming out of Trumps mouth certainly doesn't help...Much of America has very little faith that team Trump is up to the task...Can you blame em? These clown can't even manage to get the much needed test kits into healthcare providers hands.......What happens if and when the shit really hits the fan? I shudder to think......

49 folks dead in the last 24 hours in Italy, and they are reporting an infection rate which is 4 times higher than what China was dishonestly reporting... Fucking media?

I’m with Rico on this one. The only grace for me is that it spares the little ones, but I’m fearful for the folks and grand-folks!

my wife has always been a prepper and we’ve got a place far from most people but that won’t necessarily help and even if we come out unscathed there is still likely going to be a terrible human cost...

Although unfortunately the world is full of that. Better just keep saw-ing Today and not think too much about it, I suppose!

This could be another 911, in the same way it forced us to changed our geopolitical outlook. 911 caused airports to implement invasive screening of passengers and it was used as a pretense for war. The idea of a pandemic isn't being under or over played, but it is forcing schools to close, grocery store shelves to go empty and things are getting worse, probably a lot worse before things get better. What worries me most is how and when our major supply chains may begin to falter and/or fail. When basic necessities are no longer available, the biggest impact will be in populated areas. Without pharmaceutical drugs it will be only a matter of days or weeks before the zombie apocalypse happens. Not real zombies, but hordes of people ganging up on others in search of food and other basic necessities. Travel will change too and become more road-warrior like, where the only safer mode of travel will be done in RVs and Campers. Air travel and cruise ships are already feeling a huge impact. When and if things get really hairy, a barter system will likely become necessary, since there will no longer be any use for paper money. As arborist and nature loving tree-hugging climbers, maybe now is a good time to start growing your own food, if you aren't already doing so.

Obviously, no one here is in danger of becoming a green lantern, so much fear. Finger pointing at blunders doesn't even matter, cat's out of the bag and it's not getting put back in.

I worked over in the neighboring county yesterday, Wayne, and to my surprise, when I got home I saw they have a man quarantined there with Corona. Apparently it's going to hit close to home for me! Carbondale is Only roughly 20 miles away. Glad we got our son home before the hospitals start to fill up. I'm still not stressing it since I've been staying away from the public for the most part, but a guy has to go get some groceries once in a while. Some days we're better off staying in the trees

Nebraska just got its first case, a 36-year-old Omaha woman who was vacationing in Great Britain. She came back and was brought to Methodist Hospital. Apparently, she's in bad shape and they're concerned about her survival. They're running around now, trying to figure out how many others she may have infected.

UPDATE: They have moved her to the Nebraska Biocontainment Unit, where there is currently a patient from the Diamond Princess cruise ship, as well.

Yep. This shit is coming to a neighborhood near you, and our current government has shown that they are woefully unprepared to deal with it...Best to get prepared for some strange days moving forward.....

My wifes school is shut down, and they are going to be teaching the kids remotely. The responsible thing to do, me thinks......

This woman actually got sick on Feb 24th, while still in England, and rather than stay there, hopped a plane back here. That's part of the problem. Containment of a disease isn't helped when you carry it thousands of miles away and give it some fresh breeding grounds.

Well at least our economy is "the greatest ever".......

An employee at my wifes school has just tested positive! Its been nice knowing your mutherfuckers, but I'm goin' down slow...

As was mentioned earlier, the effect on the local, U.S. and world economies is going to be much greater than the physical effects and mortality from Covid-19. Not to be paranoid or anything but Russia withdrawing from the OPEC agreement couldn't have been better timed to throw an f'you at the U.S. and world economies, Putin has nothing to lose and everything to gain. Now we get to find out how resilient the modern human house of cards really is.
