Htp core kinked fibers?

I posted this here because this is where the rope experts hang out. I bought some 1/2 inch htp and noticed it felt like the core is bumpy. So I pulled out some core and found this. Is it normal or do I have a bad rope?

My guess is it isn’t right. Sometimes ropes do have kinks to make them able to stretch, but the ones I’ve seen are smaller and not spaced apart like that. It could be intentional for easier knot tying perhaps is another theory.
Sterling should be able to tell you what’s going on, but now that they have been bought by Sherrill.......

I think they're house-shaped, now.... :inocente:
Funny you should say that. I had nightmares about building a house all night last night. I am not prone to worry, fear, and anxiety, but there is SOOOO MUUUUCH to think about when building a house from bottom to top old school style in this environment. While the wife is worried about picking which finish she wants on her fucking plumbing fixtures, or which hand made high dollar Persian rug is gonna look best in the living room, I am worried about little unimportant matters like how the fuck I'm gonna get the necessary amounts of concrete to the building site. A logistical nightmare I can assure you. Its a little overwhelming at times...

You think Maura would get upset if I told her I didn't want to build her a new home, and I was gonna go smash some tress instead? "Look honey, your just gonna have to spend the rest of your days living in this little shit shack, cause I got trees to kill woman".

If and when it all goes south which one of you mutherfuckers is gonna let me live in your basement?

Post edited after Sean pointed out that it would probably be best if I started with the foundation and worked my way to the roof, not visa versa...

part of the problem is that you are talking of building the house from top to bottom. I'd go bottom to top.

Part is that you have trees to kill woman or women.

All I have is a crawl space, but I bet we could build you a nice bunker in the field.

haha

Good luck. It's going to be an adventure!

And here I thought you started with the roof. I think I might be in way over my head?
If shit gets really rough I might take you up on the crawl space. Pimp that fucker out and it might be real cozy?

I don't need running water and I am willing to sleep on a dirt floor, but I am definitely gonna need some electricity . How else am I gonna run my expresso machine?

As long as you don't mind sleeping on the tablesaw. You'll want to lower the blade all the way down, first. Wait... there's an old pool table down there that I've been meaning to cut up and haul out of there... it's completely buried in climbing and rigging crap, but I'm sure we can shovel that out of the way. Sure. Why not? ICE isn't going to be hanging around looking for you, are they?
