Ideas for setting 2 climbing lines for tip.

Was looking for new ideas on good ways to set up two climbing lines when running two rope runner or Rope wrench or etc. I have seen Kevin show different ways like Texas rig but never seen him set up for two climbing lines. Not a lot of talk about it maybe still too new of a thing?

On side note anyone thinking of bombing out of a tree with chainsaw in hand for Halloween lol

The easy way would be a second rope tied midline on a base anchor rope.
How ever you are anchoring ropes, it should be possible to just add another rope to the process and have double lines on the same TIP.

Richard @yoyoman did the following video showing how he uses a lanyard for a tie-in around the trunk while ascending on a canopy tie-in-point. He shows how he'll capture the main line if the Tip fails, and use the lanyard as a back up tie-in-point from which the main climbing line can be salvaged and used for an emergency descent.

Isolating two climbing lines when using either canopy or basal tie-in-points can be tricky, especially when redirects come into play, but using one line as a primary climbing line while clipping onto a second line using something like a mono-directional RollNLock or a bi-directional ASAP, seems to be more commonly used when using two climbing lines.

Clearly there are far more benefits to using two climbing lines from a rescue standpoint, but I also understand how this may create a lot more concern for production climbers.

You’re gonna make me watch another one of Richard videos!!! Lol. Just kidding. He don’t make enough $ for all the great stuff he does !!! Hope things are looking better for him soon!

Like Two lines and two alpine butterflies and two quickies Or One line with Alpine butterfly in the middle and both sides through one quickie or set one line go up then set another line in other spot when getting up there.
These are fine ideas, too. I never really absorbed the benefits of using 2 ropes at the same exact TIP. Especially choked srt with retrieval legs...
Trying to set up and break down a huge 2 rope canopy anchor sounds hard. So when I want 2 ropes I set them separately. In my view, 2 ropes doesn't make you much safer until you have 2 TIPs.
Have you heard of the secret weapon system? The original set up used a ring and ring friction saver tied in a friction hitch onto an SRT access line with a MRS line running through it. So you are tied into MRS on a SRS line that you can rope walk (or foot lock). The coolest part is that you are bringing that second line into the tree to use immediately.

Yea I agree with rope. If I'm setting 2 lines I'd prefer them to be separate anchors....I never felt the need to use the floating anchor or secret weapon system at work but once in a while when rec climbing I'll mess with it.

I prefer to make things easy as possible. If setting in one PSP is just the beginning you can build beautiful anchor systems easy from a good start point .. or two if that's best ..end goal ..bes safe be stable..dont waste any time fucking around:p..two lines on any tree worth having two lines, play around with a few inside outside redirects and quickly it becomes understandable why start in one place maybe best sometimes..

After watching the Schultz effect and then seeing Joel Dreise using it with some success in the Ontario Tree Climbing championships I am really digging the 50 ft dedicated double crotching system. Works awesome for big spreading trees where rope angle gets shitty and you only have to employ it when necessary. Used it a few times in the past month and am really digging it

“There’s a guy in a mask walking around the street scaring people with a chainsaw...”

“Oh don’t worry, it’s just a tree climber who lives on the street. You know how those folk are...”
