Brand new purple Rope Wrench still in package. Thought I was gonna run two wrench systems but never happened. Used (only a couple times) shorty stiff tether from rope logic. Didnt work with my hitch so I bought a longer one. $120 for the Wrench and $20 for the tether. $130 for both. Pay shipping from Hawaii.IMG_6560.JPG

Newest one for climbing I think. It’s a zk2. It’s a great SRT tool, the price is pretty fair now I think.
AFAIK the only one newer is on the Rigging Rope Wrench only.

That's what I meant. I didn't know there was a rigging one.

So what exactly is the point of the rope wrench? It takes friction off the hitch so it advances easier in SRT?

It makes it possible to descend a single stationary line with a hitch. You can always ascend with just a hitch but to come down you need some additional friction. With a stiff tether it pivots a little and follows up the rope with almost no resistance.

What Bango said.

ZK2 non CE version. If you want a CE version, you need to buy the wrench/tether combo from ISC.

Rig n wrench is awesome btw.

Sorry I'm having a stupid moment. Is there something about SRT that makes you unable to descend on hitch cord or is it same as double rope: you can descend, it's just not all that smooth and hell on your hitch cord if you don't baby it?

There is a lot of friction on your hitch in SRT, because the load is doubled on your hitch. You can descend, bit it will get very hot and bind up easily. The ropewrench solves that, and it makes descending smoother than DdRT.

@Brocky - While that's kind of you - you have to admit that overlooking that the weight is divided between two ropes in double rope technique and 100% on a single rope in single rope technique is kind of stupid.

With that said, @Grafted_In - Will you do an even $100? And do you do paypal?

As an aside, what Island are you on?

Ya mah dude! Enjoy the simple beauty of the wrench Paypal is a yes, send me a pm and we’ll get sorted. Recent transplant to the Big Island but originally from Maui.

Mahalo! I'll get that sent right away.

I only visited the big island once, don't remember a lot.

I lived on Oahu when I was young, and visited again as an adult. I lived near the ocean nearly my whole life until my last move, and I miss it.

I've come to like where we live now, but my wife and I are beach people, you know? It's like the energy is different on the ocean... even on the mainland.

Oh nice, I lived over there for year. A little busy for me but the surf is awesome! I knownwhat you mean about being near the ocean. I think I'd lose it if I lived far away from it.
