Not much of a story to go with this one except working in wet conditions on a slope.
Edit: forgot to mention, this was when I went to pick up the first piece of wood that day. In order to complete the job and make best use of a rental that day, I continued to work in the mud going up and down the hill. Not sure how many times I got stuck that day. Luckily it was a storm damage job so a little ground damage is acceptable.

I did something stupid today. A guy agreed to buy my loader truck and trailer site unseen. He said if I simply drove it a couple hours to him he would have his office manager give me a cashiers check for it. I believed him because we have some common friends. Once I got there he started picking things he didn’t like about the truck and decided that he didn’t want it. Don’t get me wrong he was a nice guy and I don’t think he intended to waste my time, but that doesn’t mean he didn’t. He did agree to pay me $1000 if I came and he didn’t want the truck. He held up his end of the deal. But it does not change the fact that I would’ve never left with the truck if I thought there is any chance at all that he wasn’t buying it. What a spectacular waste of my day today!

I did something really fucking stupid today when I decided to mix it up with a bunch of brain dead right wing lunatics on youtube. Before I knew it I had walked into a hotbed of crazy white supremacists talking about killing Liberals, Dems, Politicians, Blacks, Browns, Jews, and anyone who didn't look like them or love Trump. This thread is awesome! I have 2 to contribute:
1: I was positioning the bucket truck for the last tree trim of the day. Tree was right next to the narrow driveway. When I pulled up to it, I parked the truck and opened the driver door to check where the boom and outriggers would be in relation to where I needed them. The tree is on the driver side of the vehicle and I had pulled just bit too far forward. I decided I needed to back up like 4 feet for a better boom position. Rather than closing the driver door and just straight backing up I decided to keep the driver door half open and watch the driver side outrigger to make sure I wouldn't stop where it would hit the root flare when lowered...only issue is that the driver door was open enough to hit the trunk as I was backing up and it wrinkled the door like an accordion. I had to tear off the interior panel to kick and beat out as much of the wrinkle as I could to get the door to latch closed for the drive back to the shop.
2: Was climbing some smaller (30-40') landscape trees at a hotel resort in South Carolina. The crew was scattered all over the place and we were basically working solo on the smaller stuff. My rope got coiled around some landscaping lights and I couldn't descend without constantly having to lower my TIP. Rather than working my way back down the tree I got the attention of some vacationers walking by on the sidewalk under me. It took 'em a few moments to realize the person calling out to them was above them lol. It was a super chill older couple...they hooked me up by unhooking me.
