Teufelberger Drenaline 11.8mm

Thanks that helps. I used to like more static ropes but now actually prefer the little bit of stretch voyager offers. It’s not excessive but just that it isn’t such a stiff ride

DrenaLINE-ZZ-1.webp

Smooth as glass in the ZigZag... grabs instantly, tends with no friction at all (full 1/2" lines have a bit of friction in the ZZ)... the ZZ is reliable with anything at or above 11.5mm and under 12.5mm but performs best the closer they are to 1/2" and this rope... just perfect. Only place at home I could play with it is only 20' up, but it's enough that I can tell I'm really going to like this one.

As others said, little bit of bounce (just right, for me) and a surprisingly good hand for a kernmantle rope. Very firm, doesn't flatten in the ZZ like the 11.7mm Yale doublebraid ropes. Tight cover, toothed ascenders work flawless on it. I'm going to have to try it with SRT, but that will have to wait until I'm done giving this setup some tree time.

Did I mention that you can see this rope from a block and a half away? Took this pic just before dark, and it was cloudy. Even the camera caught the effect on the rope.. that orange just pops out like there were fireflies living inside of it.

My experience with the drenaline after 3-4 months of mostly constant use.
It runs well through the rope runner, but does flatten with time. Puts very little wear on the runner. Super smooth, runs great and tends with nearly no friction. The outer sheeth picks, scuffs, and frays extremely easy. It works with a figure 8 descender, but no extraordinary friction because it’s so slick. It slips in my zigzag, but I don’t use the zigzag much, might not even be broken in.

Anyone have any insights on how the [slaice] pulls through an ring-ring friction saver? I hang a FS above the ball on a shackle when I fly the crane. The splice on my old Tachyon pulls thru the small ring with a little pop no problem. Looking to replace it soon and this rope has caught my attention. Also wouldn’t mind having it around for the rare MRS climb.

A slaice pulls through better than an eye splice or stitch. A slaice will flex. I loved all my slaiced eyes
