Bend Right Rigging Ring

I love my Bend Right rings. I use them more for the friction than the bend radius. They're awesome. Get a splicer who knows what they're doing to make you ultra slings for them, it's a deadly combination. I get Peter DeVries to do all my splicing, he does a great job. A single Bend Right ring is plenty for negative rigging...

Who's this Peter fella you speak of? I have yet to dip into the splicing world. I assume treestuff will eventually make specialized sling systems for it, but not positive

I agree .....hell I use single X rings in negative rigs. ..I have doubles though...but a single is good enough...if going super heavy fouble is the way to go....

Just got one of these, larger than the Beast. Nice price, not sure if it has the same type of anodizing as the x rings.

Woah... Wtf.. $24?? I've seen those Seldon rings as well as a ton of other brands & shapes.. They carry some different sizings that could be helpful when trying to use them unconventionally, like for a friction saver when you don't want a large ring but need to pass something like a sewn eye.. However, sometimes the sizing can be difficult to find on them so I've never taken the jump..

So that 70/30 Seldon ring is bigger than a beast ring?

I've also seen some other styles rings as well, I believe by Antal.. they have a really wide center but a shallower groove. $50+ price tags though..

Regardless, cool find man..

The anodizing on the Selden ring is very thin. It may be hard coat, but only a thin layer. I only read a little about anodizing, so this might not be the case. I rotated the ring from the throat where I used a little screwdriver to do the splice. Barely making contact caused it to nick very easily.IMG_1998.webp

One problem I encountered with hard coat is when it does eventually wear through the softer aluminum will erode quickly and leave a knife edge off hard coat that will destroy a rope

If you got a smart phone & an email account just setup an insta... it's pretty simple & takes literally minutes.. not being a dick, I'm serious, takes minutes.

You can also find him on FB.. so if you have that you probably already have the messenger app for it floating around in your phone somewhere.. if not, just DL.

Those are the only two ways ive ever spoken with him, but don't sweat it, he always responds.

Petes a good guy.. he takes pride in what he does & enjoys it as well.. I'm sure he'd be more than happy to speak with you.. Idk where you are located but he's up there in O' Canada..

@Brocky
Are those really bigger than Beast rings? Or am i getting jammed up thinking the beast ring & notch #3 ring are the same size, as well as the biggest ones out there.

The Beast is 38mm outer diameter, and 28mm wide. The large Notch is 99mm x 49mm.
Huh... I always thought the X rings measured the same way the Antal ones did.. as in 38x28 meant 38mm donut hole, 28mm outter channel & the overall edge to edge sizes just aren't posted, unless you go off Antal's posted specs. Antal also doesn't have a 38x28 so the largest you can completely spec out is 28x20.

I also always thought the Notch rings were just a tad wider than the X rings, but what your listing is a difference in measurable inches..

Here's something below i made up a while back when trying to break down what's what..

Which lead me to believe this is how the sizes matched up..
Notch #3 = X Rig Beast
Notch #2 = X Rig Large
Notch #1 = x Rig Medium

Then there's the Seldon's, Harken's, WindDesign's, Ronstans & Tylaska's which sometimes don't follow the same sizing/numbering patterns & makes figuring out actual differences a bit difficult/ cloudy.

For example, i think that Seldon measurement of 70 is referencing the actual overall width of the whole thing, edge to edge & the 30 references the center hole, with no Channel size being used.
Which would land it somewhere around a Large 28/20 X Rig Ring.. I don't know the overall edge to edge on the XRig Rings off the top of my head, but I've always used Antal's charts as I've been under the impression theyre tic for tac in rope sizing.

If you look at the photoshop below you'll see where I'm getting the Notch /X Rig sizing comparison.

I will say i wish Notch & X Rig had a few more sizes in between both theyre largest options & they're second to largest options. However, albeit, they may not be as rugged, Tylaska seems to offer a quite a few to fill that gap.
