Continuing the Patty’s feast, here’s a fantastic Banger’s & Mash with root veggies and soda bread, and an equally superb Short rib & stout pie. Washed down with a Guinness, naturally.

I would've been all over that, had that option presented itself....
But for a non-Irish restaurant in a tiny town in the middle of Nowhere, Maine, they sure put on 1 heck of a show!
Don't get me started on the warm, homemade red raspberry pie a la mode for dessert.

At my age, the only solid food I need is pie and icecream. I consider your average 9-inch pie to be the single-serving size.

Switched gears this weekend and went Scottish.
First up, Scotch Egg


Then, I had haggis with neeps and tatties, and she had steak pie with a killer gravy.
No, not a "true" haggis, as we're not allowed to eat lungs here in the US, but as close as we're gonna get on this side of the pond.

Schmidt's food truck. 2 Bahama Mamas with grilled onions for me and a gigundous frank for my oldest. He ate the whole thing. Said it was the best dog he'd ever had.
