What happened to the Matt Cornell Rope Saddle?

Curious too. Heard it was some sexist comment. I don’t know myself what it was that was said. Maybe I too would get all indignant and want to see this guy dragged down Main Street and anything he had any part of wiped from history.
Just seems like some people can’t let others think differently from themselves without throwing tantrums. Maybe I’m wrong.

I wrote some really funny sentences but erased it so no one thinks I deserve to die for them misconstruing my humor

I’m still used to being around a bunch of rowdy, foul mouthed fishermen with perverse and cruel humor, so my barometer is likely way off.

Really the point I was going to make with said funny ness is that I could easily say something that I believe is true in a way that is exaggerated for a kind of laugh or gag response but end up invoking the almighty rage of the Virtuous Internet Crusaders, firstly because they believe differently than I and then compounded by the fact that I have exaggerated my position for humor.

Still I don’t know if this is anything like the Matt Cornell fuck up, but with the way social “justice” is dealt out these days, I would not be surprised.
So WTF did he say or do?

I’ll be sitting in the airport for a while tomorrow. I’ll try to dig it up and quote him directly but it was basically that women are subservient to men and that they are of a lesser value or something like that but I believe his words were taken too literally and his biblical quotes pissed off the left. It wasn’t something he should have written but I don’t think his intention was to be taken literally. You should go through the thread at the beginning of this one. It has a lot of it on there. I had some very intense internet debates, too many, expla Ning how retarded people were who got so caught up in his words. I wasn’t winning too many popularity contests. I even know someone who cut his MCRS into pieces in protest. It’s off the hook. It basically stemmed from a post Nora was involved in where someone truly was being badly and tasteless Towards her. Nasty speak! Well Matt and him were friends and Matt made some statements in partial agreement based in the Bible. Evidently it got so bad some folks were getting death threats. Kevin Bingham really had the best reasoning about Matt but nobody listened. If he wasn’t who he was they would have roasted him too but they didn’t. It’s really resiculous and Nick totally fueled the fire with his decision to scrap the saddle IMHO. This is the way of the world now folks. Everything will haunt you eventually. I may get stoned for wearing mine at Geezers this weekend. Hope that helps a little.
 
I can't give a complete opinion on the issue yet, since I too do not have a Facebook account.

I will say that on the Treebuzz visit to Sherrill headquarters Bonner took some of the guys to a Hooters for drinks, a place that objectifies women for the pleasure of men. Inlight of his reasons for dropping the Cornell saddle it appears to me that he has a double standard.

Someone might want to tell TreeStuff that they have an add on Treebuzz that still flashes a picture of the Matt Cornell saddle (false advertising).
 
Maybe he is Muslim.
Seems pretty intolerant to persecute a man for his religious beliefs.

I hope that’s not true about @bonner1040 objectifying women.... naughty boy if that is true... should someone like that be in a position of power over others?/s

I'm not going to comment except to say this.

I've done everything a person can do for my good friend Matt Cornell and will continue to do whatever I can to help him. None of the people in this thread are helping the situation with this conversation.

You can all (mostly) blame me all you want and make your wild ass accusations but you don't know the facts, the history, the stakes, or the relationships involved.

Nick I am glad to hear your personal friendship with Matt is in tact, despite the fact that his work has been flushed down the toilet over some chatroom argument. As usual, it seems you're the guy everyone assumes has full control and must be to blame. Rock and a hard place. I don't envy you.
 
Sorry But I'll throw up the bullshit flag on the above excuses and justifications!!!

Initially facebook was just a means for distant family to see my son grow up. It is poison and just sucks you in. I was hunting, in the woods, all alone, and spent the entire day arguing about this saddle deal until my phone died. Ruined a perfect day.

Again, I'll state my issue is with how much hypocrisy is involved with the pulling of the saddle and how the do as I say and not as I do comes into play here. I am also totally disappointed with TS. When the mass hysteria after the sale ensued I tried to be a voice of reason. I was invested in helping. I feel like I have been rudely dismissed and had the wool pulled over my eyes. I'm pretty upset about the entire deal. As well as investing in a saddle "for life" that is now defunct. False advertising or changing the terms of the contract--- sorta pissed.
 
Oh and he does have full control. His statements about pulling the saddle all addressed it as "I" decided, "I" believe so the decision rested with Bonner. Unless he just wants us to believe he's in control. Clearly, as it seems he may have always wanted, TreeStuff is his show and he's all but destroyed it.

There's no bullshit in my words Steve.

Treestuff was destroyed by the guy took everyone's investment, loyalty and commitment.....and sold it underhandidly. And yet many of its old customers begrudge and blame Sherrill for some reason. Not to go off the point. Let' see Matt's post if you have time. If its too much trouble, don't worry about it. Thanks.
