I was at an auction a few months back where Rick's Tree Service bought a couple of buckets that were unique. He had them advertised for $89,900 and I looked back at my auction notes to see he paid $60,000. Of course he had to pay a buyers premium, but wow what a markup! They were nice trucks and didn't need anything so he was selling them just like he purchased them unless there was some little something that happened in travel. The Co-Op sold them because they were getting out of ROW clearance. He buys low and resale’s high. Better off staying away. Find the right seller and machine yourself.
I agree with this. I just bought a used Morbark 15" that was sold by a farmer. I jumped on it before someone grabbed it to flip it. With the prices I am seeing I could spend 4K on fresh paint and sell this chipper for a profit. But I am going to run it and make my money their.Rick screwed up the whole used market in the northeast. Chippers now are absurdly priced and he has people by the balls since a new chipper comes with tier 4 engines that no one wants. It’s disgusting.

Why did you go with gas?
What HP did you go with ?Because the tier 4 final motors don't have the bugs worked out yet. Our in house mechanic does not know enough about tier 4 motors and would have to go to CAT to work on it. On the other hand, he could rebuild the whole motor if need be with local parts around the corner at NAPA.
If we could of bought the Tier 3 CAT like we have in our 2015' Terex 770 we would of went that route. Actually we would of bought another Terex 770 if they still made em instead of the Bandit. Someone needs to step up and start making the Terex/Woodsman chippers again. Bandit does not make a better chipper, they have better marketing.
165-horsepower 5.7-liter gasoline engine . Never thought I'd ever buy a gas chipper, but we shall see how it doesWhat HP did you go with ?
Alright thanks, yes let us know !165-horsepower 5.7-liter gasoline engine . Never thought I'd ever buy a gas chipper, but we shall see how it does
We just placed an order an order on Monday for a new 18xp with gas motor. Went with a black chipper this time around. Should be finished up at the factory by the end of January early Feb.
I do know of a reasonably priced 2014 1590xp Tier 3 that has 1700 hrs on it. Was thinking of buying it instead of a new one.
I purchased a 15xp with 165hp gas engine a year ago from Vince (northeastern equipment) and it was a pleasure doing business with themThese guys seem to have some good prices on chippers ( compared to what they are here ) https://store.northeasternarborist.com/bandit-equipment/bandit-chippers/new-bandit/
18” gasser for 56 K
Thanks, their prices are the best I’ve seen and even with the exchange if I bought from them I’d be saving thousandsI purchased a 15xp with 165hp gas engine a year ago from Vince (northeastern equipment) and it was a pleasure doing business with them
I'm gunna have ramps built for my 16' chip truck. Mini, big chipper, big chip truck. Be a one rig tree killing machine.Wish I was in a market that just using a big ass grapple truck instead of a chipper was a option. Less trucks, less equipment etc.

I just put my ramps in the box next to the machine right now on my 550. Ill probably just do the same thing for my bigger chip truck.Ramps for the mini to go in the chip box or in between the dump and the cab?
