I thought that the valves would hold pressure in the lines, independent of the hydraulic pump not being on. If I'm parked on a slope, shut off the machine, and release the pressure on the tracks' wheel motors (if my terminology is correct), the machine is not going to move, like a bicycle with a freewheel.
Does that make sense?
I'm not well-versed in hydraulics.
Did the tracks not resist you when rolling, or was it because the wheel motor was bad? Is there not two wheel motors?
Yes each side has a motor. And no it didn't resist being rolled. I don't know hydraulics either. It will creep if left on a slope so it probably has an issue. It rarely bothers me though. I just stay on the controls when working on a slope.
