What rope are you using for the rope runner???

I hear that Steve, the shortest length I have is 300', but I'm gonna have to do quite a few redirects, otherwise I'd go with 150' of Tachyon. I do like Kernmaster with the RW. Haven't used it with the RR, but once. It tends to want to bomb on descents, unless I hold the tail, burns like a MoFo on Nitrile gloves. I still haven't tried the HTP, with the RR yet. Of course, I've got 600' of that, it'll last a long time, if I never use it! hachacha:

That smooth cover on kern tends great and runs through the ascenders like water, but it bombs fast and takes a little more time to come to a stop. I think it also makes it prone to be a little jerky breaking the bird on descent.

That's what I was thinking while trying a little test run in the backyard, I even moved the upper bollard up closer to the birds slic pin. I've seen how hard you are on your bollards, wearing them down to practically nothing. I'm considering using a steel biner and a "Munter" to try a pre-brake, we'll see how it works out on Sunday. Wish me luck, the HOer wants to help, I already told him that's gonna cost him double, maybe I'll buy a 300'er of Yale Tachyon. We'll see how it goes.

I own. 13mm htp, 11mm sterling addiction, vortex, and 11.7 yale blue tongue. Sounds any one of those should fit the bill for me. I've talked myself out of buying 11.5 platinum a few times but I might bite the bullet.

I've never tried "Platinum" SIG, I'd be curious how well it works with the RR. Sounds and looks like a great rope. Keep us apprised of the outcome, if you would. Thanks.

I will play with all four ropes this next week. I have finally goty rope wrench dialed in and now I'm gonna be giving this a whirl. Really been enjoying the wrench since I figured it out. Everyone was jiving on the runner though so I got one of those to. Lol

Good for you! You'll learn to love it, if you haven't owned one before. I went from the BDBONE, to be RWrench, to the RignWrench, and now most of my climate are 50/50 RR & BDB. They are very similar, but very different, at the same time. There's a learning curve for every device. As I'm sure you're aware of. Every ones got a favorite, depending on weight, and particular setups, I.e. Saddle, bridge, ascenders, etc. it's fascinating how much the rope can affect your experiences. Just like E2E's or hitchcord can also affect a device. I'll report back on the Kernmaster after the weekend. It should be just fine, but I won't know until I get a chance to use it. [emoji848]

How many of you guys are/have run the all gear 11.5's through your runner. Seems like I don't hear of many flying it. Is there something you guys dislike about it? I run rocket line through my bone and really like it. On treestuffs website it says the RR was tested and recamended for use with all gear 11.5. I'm super happy with my bone but have been thinking of picking up a runner with the sale that treestuff is having now.

The second inner core of the AG lines keeps it very round and it plays nicely with mechanicals. However, they will not last nearly as long as the Yale lines, which Kevin designed the runner around.

I think you'll find the 13mm HTP to feel the best in the runner. The 11mm may creep a little. Don't get Platinum, it's an access line not a SRWP line. The interwoven cover/ core strands create baginess as it milks between where those strands weave in and out. Yales blue tongue access line or Escalator by Teufelberger would be much better choices.

I've been using the all gear blue craze ( bought it because they recommended it) I use Tachyon with my zig zag. I have the blue tongue as well, most use it for pines so my other ropes don't get caked with pine sap. I've been using the blue craze since Feb when I got my runner and is a nice rope so far.

Thanks for that Reed, I've only used my blue tongue with my zig zag I haven't tried it yet with the runner

Thanks Reed, I tried a piece of "all gear" I really want to say it was "Cherry Bomb" it eats the back spline really fast on the quick Descents, and felt like it got hotter on the way down, after several tries. As I said earlier, I've never tried "Platinum ", now I know that I'll never try it. The Tachyon was one of those items that I purchased from another member, so I really didn't research it, all that well. It is however some really tough rope. As far as "Poison Ivy & Sumac" I'm not a real fan of either, tried them both while in Pittsburgh, last year. They both felt square after being loaded, they felt like I was climbing Rebar, they were really tough to get accustomed to after Yale 11.7's. I guess it's personal preference. Thanks for schooling me on the Teufelberger. My Bad.
