Anyone used the BTS hauler I see on WesSpur?

I own one and although it is a little heavy, it is great. I went for the oversized tires. We mostly use in in conjunction with the chipper winch for pulling logs and stacks up steep grades. Very nice to have when needed.

I'm also debating on this or the stein. I like the the design. Any one have experience with the BTS and stein?

Oops try this one for the Treehog version also

Shipping would kill me. If the BTS is every bit as good as the stein, I think I rather go for it. It seems more versatile and offers extra wide tires... We just planted a 15+' b&b river birch, then some pruning on norway maples behind the house and around the corner from the chipper ~400'. If I had a all in 1 it would have made the job much smoother. (sorry Reg)

The one thing that's seems odd is the caster, and I and questioning the COG if the caster can be deleted.

Ive only used the BTS deal so don't have experience with the others. Well made but heavy. The caster wheel up front is not so hot in turf or dirt. I got a reg tire replacement and it broke the first day so back to the caster. My crew thinks the AT much better and keeps begging me to spend more money!

@Levi.CO, and @BeesandTrees; Hey, none of my business, but to have two posters in a row with the same city listed as your location has me wondering whether or not you folks have ever met or worked together?

I would think it really cool to have the ablility to get together with other TreeBuzzers, if the opportunity presented itself, as it does with you folks. Just a thought.

Why does your ground crew prefer the AT? You mentioned that you have experience with the bts hauler. Do they also have experience with both, or just one?

I haven't used the AT, one guy has, others haven't. He says it is lighter and likes that it doesn't have that front wheel like on the BTS. That front wheel can be a pain sometimes for sure. Hard plastic wheel, I replaced once with a rubber one but it broke right away. Haven't checked the weights but BTS does seem heavy.

Only have experience with the Stein. I'm a fan. Prefer the mini skids over that of course, but the stein is a great product when the landowner wants to see you sweat and has an obscenely tight landscape and/or gate.

I've had so many repairs to my mini that I want a trolley/hauler for three reasons (your obscenely tight landscape reason is also a good one, though very rare since I've got a 36" access mini):

1.) to take up the slack when the mini is down,

2.) minis have a surprisingly narrow zone of usefulness - trunks that are smaller than the grapple closure (perhaps 25-28"?) and larger than you'd want to haul on a trolley (perhaps 12-20"?),

3.) trolleys pair well with a bicycle service model - I know, it seems odd, but it's actually quite marketable... I rolled around solely with an aluminum bicycle flatbed trailer for a year and still have it for the occasional job.
