Wanted: Stein Maxi-Flip Sport!

This is what I want:

http://treetools.co.nz/climbing1/lanyards/stein-maxi-flip-sport

- But they won't sell it to me because 'Our supply arrangement with Stein prohibits us from selling outside our geographic region so we are unable to help you on this.'

I'm in Canada.

I know there are many similar configurations of the same flipline but none I can find of exactly the same configuration in North America or Europe (Online, so far).

This configuration would suit the ergonomics of my climb style - and therefore will help save my body.

If anyone can help me on this - that would be great - even if I have to buy from someone who buys the item from Treetools New Zealand (in New Zealand - and then resells on to me!).

I'm looking for 1 or 2 of them.

Thank you for any help.

Thanks so much Boomslang! - I've been searching, searching... - I think I will order it.

I'm climbing on the Yale Maxi Flip Sport right now (TreeStuff) - I'm looking for the flipline itself to be as identical in weight and construction as this. I know there is no way of knowing for sure (from the picture online) how close it is to this flipline.

Unless anyone has any experience on how closely related these fliplines are? - I'll just be ordering it, and take the chance.

Thanks again - I just had to have this system.

Thanks Stihlmadd - that seems to be another great Arborist Company that I didn't know about, however their rope snaps are steel (and I'm looking for aluminum).

I love the yale maxi sport flipline - but I'd love the triple action svivel snap to be on it (as opposed to the triple action swivel biner I'm using just now - from TreeStuff). So I'm looking to keep the same (or very similar) flipline - only changing the connector on the end.

I've emailed Honey Bros - they said they can't confirm how different their flipline is compared the the Yale Maxi Flip Sport (as they don't have one) - but they said from the description that they do look similar.

Thanks everyone.

What are the benefits of snaps over a triple locking biner? I never get why people put the triple snap on a lanyard instead of a biner.
I used to think the same thing. Then I got to compare using a snap versus a biner. The snap was much more fluid and smoother. I have no problem opening a biner one-handed but the ergonomics of that can be awkward in the tree sometimes. I don't get that with the snap.

The Stein maxi flip sport looks like a lanyard any arborist supplier can get the parts for and put together. Isc swivel snap and Samson 16 strand with wire core. What part does Stein actually make? Am I missing something?

TreeStuff said they'd need to do a minimum order of 5 from Yale. I've ordered from Honey Bros. If you find an Arborist Supplier who makes them for singular individual orders - let us know - you'll be a step ahead of me.

I did think about that SRTsteve860 - though no time to get a few Arborists together! : )

I've received my flipline from Honey Bros and though I'm yet to climb on it - I'm impressed by the product. It's a Marlow Flipline and although the colour is different - it's featured in this video here;

I'll try and put some photos up too. I've just ordered 1, though now will probably order more for the future. I think I'll prefer it over TreeStuff's Yale Maxi Flip Sport. I have no scales here - but they both feel like they are around the same weight.

These proportions are correct - the Marlow Flipline is around 2" shorter than the Yale Maxi Flip Sport, though I think you sort of gain these 2" by being able to cinch your lanyard adjuster 2" closer to the termination end due to the splice cover being smaller in length.

Now I just need to think up a way to protect my flipline cover from the inevitable occasional quick follow through snags with my handsaw (the reason I needed a new flipline in the first place (rope cover ultimately completely severed) - any tips anyone?

Not at all. $168.49 CAD + I had to pay UPS $15.98 for tax + duties = $184.47 CAD Total.

I've worked out TreeStuff's at around $125 CAD + you'd need to pay shipping.

Sure - I'm paying around $45 CAD more than TreeStuff (I'd buy it from them if I could) - but it's the product my body needs, so I'd actually be willing to pay even more. First time trying the triple snap felt great, and so easy one handed compared to the biner.

So I decided to try and learn a bit more about the construction of the Yale Maxi Flip Sport - and cut off the 16 strand rope cover.

It seems the splice of the 'Flemish Eye' itself is 5" long (from under black tape to beginning of the eye.

I'm going to do more research - as it's a shame (and expensive) to throw away flipline after flipline after only the rope cover deteriorating every time (when the cable itself is fine).

I'm not sure where (or how) I'd find a little metal collar (and glue) to seal both the flemish splice and rope together (should I want to learn to do so).

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks
