Has anyone logged enough hours on a Yanmar 37hp or 44hp with the regen mode to give solid feedback? Sounds like a pain but wondering if the extra hp is worth it. Looking at DW 1050 and 1550. Cheers!

I have a DW 752 my buddy has the DW 1050 with yanmar and loves it he demoed the 1550 and said its to big for tree work I never seen one. I just demoed the 1050 wed and its an awesome machine has plenty of power on hills where my dies I don't think you'd go wrong with either the 1550 is a lot bigger dealer said.

I have a older yanmar 44hp in my chipper. It’s solid and trouble free. Only trubble free thing about my chipper! Regent and newer diesels I have no clue.. wouldn’t hesitate however.

My sk752 with 25hp kubota has more than enough power. Unless you are running attachments daily I didn’t see a need for a 1050. It’s the same chassis and loader arms so on paper it can only technically lift more because it weighs more, but with counterweight they are equal. I much prefer the manual throttle cable and non computer dash. Also pop the hood on both machines. See which one you rather work on. I have had to replace a few hoses and o rings in my 1800hrs, and it sucks. I couldn’t imagine doing it with a bigger motor with more uneeded shit on it.

Agreed on above they are same size machine except the engine and fancy dash board the 1050 motored up the steep hills without hesitation where the 752 bogged but for the price difference I am keeping my 752 I asked the dealer rep about putting a weight kit on the 752 he said I couldn't don't know if that's true or not you have one on yours?

No weight kit. I lifted logs side by side with either machine, I didn’t feel much difference if any. Wasn’t impressed for the additional money. We hardly ever even run my machine full throttle unless you are shuttling logs. Love my 752, have #2 on order.
