Yale Scandere

Just got done with the 1st round of milking 600 ft of Poison Ivy..I sure like climbing on these new poly/poly double braids but milking 300-600 ft sucks balls....

One a side note I can already tell that the Ivy is gonna be a tougher, longer wearing rope than the Marlow Vega.. Whether it climbs and feels as good as the Vega is yet to be determined....

I would think you'd be used to that, by now... milking all those goats... especially the rams... you should have a grip like iron.

I'm sure you'll like the Poison Ivy. It's always been a nice rope, in any of the color schemes. Of course, I've never climbed on more than 150' of it... I suppose they all get bouncier when you're climbing on half a mile of it.

I had a test climb on it this morning with about 200 ft out and I didn't experience any bounce. I can see why so many love the Ivy lines....

Nothing special..A prussic, a caribiner, and a lot of pulling hard. Milked 15-16 ft of cover on the first round which isn't too bad for 600 ft. I milked that much off the Vega on the 1st pass but it was only 300 ft. The Vega took 3-4 strong milking to get it to settle in, but I think the Ivy will settle in after 2 passes....

I can now sleep at night as this beauty arrived. Cheers to @MSmith for the link, but also sorry for no stickers . Thanks for the comments and good luck @rico with milking 600' of nippleless rope!
P.s. gotta love rope handling instructions.

Hows the bounce on Scandere?
Quite static so very little to no bounce from what I remember. I'll rec. climb it on Sunday and report back. The outer sheath has a different feel, like a rock climbing rope, but you can tell it's static at the same time.

That’s exactly what I thought when I first saw it! It’s identical in feel and appearance to what I used to use to hang off cliffs, before I came to my senses (had my appendix removed and lost a season of climbing) and started climbing only trees.

So, now you know the elongation at 650 lbs. and 710 lbs. respectively. Very useful if you're going to have 3 guys climb the rope at the same time. I wish the OEMs would all give the elongation at 300 lbs. instead. Only a couple of them do, though.
