WTB Spiderjack 3

@Grafted_In

Is there an on-spar safety issue with the spiderjack 3? I don't use one. Just remembering that that came up a while back.

Sorry @Tuebor if I'm spoiling. Just safety stuff... Hopefully I'm just not up to date or @Grafted_In is already aware and knows what to do.

I haven't heard of that. There was a safety notice about inspecting a couple of screws maybe 4 or 5 years ago. Not sure if mine fell under the affected serial numbers, but I bought it after that notice came out. I'll check it when I get home.

What on spar issue? Either way, SJ wouldnt be my first choice for spar work.
I remember a conversation about the rope entry angle into/out of the sj3 being too wide due to the broad angle of running rope around a spar vs. a distant branch. Might be bad memory... I don't use one so I did not really understand the post very much. It seemed like there was intrinsically no solution for the circumstance.

That makes sense, however it should be a non issue, because it's not really used in that configuration much, except maybe when advancing, basically using it as a lanyard. On a spar, you shouldn't just pass it around and clip back in, because you can't descend that way.

Yeah, I don't mrt much but I get that - you guys use a friction saver on spar, right?. I tried searching The Buzz for what I remember and cannot find anything. Might be a good time to withdraw my assertion. Maybe I dreamt it.
