Looking to purchase a large chip truck before the end of the year. The ideal truck we‘re looking for would be a 2005-2010 Freightliner M-2 with auto trans and 14’ dump box or larger. Willing to consider anything similar.

We will have our 2011 kenworth t440 with a 20x8x8 body for sale in the very near future. We are just waiting on southco to finish up our new truck. Let me know if you have any interest

Those are the only photos I had on my phone but can take more. Truck is located in harleysville pa (about 45 minutes outside of Philadelphia) it’s a 2011 kenworth t440 it has a 350hp px8 motor and an Allison 3500rds auto trans. Truck has roughly 190k miles I drive it almost everyday and it’s a solid truck pulls a full body and an grapple chipper easily. We are looking to get around $100,000 for the truck. We are hoping our new truck from southco will be done sometime in January

Thanks for the reply! That’s a nice truck, although bigger and pricier than what we’re looking for. Our budget is going to be between $30,000-$60,000. Thanks.

Bad to the bone

I have purchased 3 of my trucks from trucksite.com . They have all sorts of clean, municipal trucks to choose from and they'll ship it right to you from CA. The most recent one I bought was this hooklift. I then had a 20' box built for it to chip into.

How tall is that chip box? We recently bought a roll off truck and haven't figured out how tall a box we want to chip into.

I like Kenworth trucks. When I was towing before doing tree work full time I drove both an International flat bed and also a Kenworth flat bed and by far I preferred the KW.

A real comfortable truck to drive as well. Nice cab and interior.

Anyone have a line on a 20x8x8 chip body? Just bought this beast. Bed could work for years, but is a little Micky moused and I would consider swapping soonish if possible. Talked to a place that would do it for 30k. I'm sure that is probably what they go for, but figured I'd put my ear to the street..... It's only 7'3" from inside to inside for width. You can't notice it from this picture but when you look from the back it looks strange. Got a good enough deal on it. Full motor rebuild 2007 dt570. have legit paperwork for 18k in rebuild. Pretty stoked on it.

A box for 30k? Does that include hoist and deck/sub frame?
If the deck is solid building one yourself wouldn't be that hard. I am guessing you have some means of lifting pannels into position. Build the sides on a flat surface lift and weld in place, piece frame/sheet the roof in place. Prep and paint. At a guess $8-15k give or take

I haven’t seen a complete bed, but the shop we use locally could build you a custom aluminum box for that, or quite possibly even less.
