We did same thing today , lifted stump grinder on to elevated yard with zero access to drive up onto. Little bandit sg40 though , not that beast.
I’m not sure I would know what to do with the grinder that size anymore, I remember how impressed I was the first time I ran a 30 hp grinder. Now, anything less than that big 75 is just disappointing.

Hahaha not when it gets in places no big grinder goes. Big grinders around here dime a dozen .. this pup strolls right through 30 inch gates I due encounter from time to time and packs a punch for its size with sharp teeth it's no slouch..... plus it fits tightly on our dump trailer or tilt deck with much other kit I've found it's essential for us for certain days.

We don’t often encounter a 30” gate, but the 75 will fit through a 36” gate. It’s a little tight, but we don’t deal with a lot of those anyway. And it travels solo, so it doesn’t have to fit with anything else on a trailer.

I did run a Toro 35 a couple years ago and was pretty impressed for such a small machine, I suspect that it was probably pretty similar to your 40.

Here's 1 battle wagon Duesel cell toolbox on front of trailer is clutch , this trailer usually holds our easylift 7036 . Big shout out to modern equipment for letting us try this Giant which had previously been ditch witch, it just nay make a home here yet!. I usually roll with d.w. sk350 and 755 on this trailer. It has 11k deck capacity . You should look into sg40 for smaller jobs , even big stumps it handles quite well , large slew on it and moves quick for very affordable price point to me , almost can't afford not to have it ..I'm ready to buy another next year. Have a great day bros off to some trees!

Working for a long-time regular, this time dead-wooding and light thinning of a madrone between the water and the house get more water/filtered light without blowing holes in it or really changing the structure of the tree (you know, how pruning should be...) That fir above it made for a great high-tie. Pictures don't show it that well, but in person it is a surprising transformation for a minimal amount of foliage removal.

Also, every day she gives us ice cream :p

Worked on the largest in the state paulownia according to a county official 30 years ago. Performed end weight reduction while removing a mass of branches from a slate roofed barn.

Also, tried to arrest the massive poison ivy vines strangulating the canopy. Hopefully the protective clothing and Tecnu showers to limit a rash. I couldn’t let that impressive, helpless tree fall victim to the toxicodendron.

Wow! That is a good sized tree right there. My experience with Powlonia is a hollow pith. What part of the tree did that cross section come from?

Hollow pith and feather light. Makes you wonder about their strength when you climb them.
Yeah. Had to go about 40’ out on a limb walk. Made sure I had 8” TIP and didn’t put too much pressure on it or the limb. Cuts very easily with a hand saw. First time in one of them. Surprisingly strong for its light weight.

That cross section was actually the poison Ivy vine!! Never seen one that large the outer perimeter shows the white urushiol oil oozing out.

You’re right paulownia has a hollow pith.
I was wondering if that was the PI, but I was looking for the hairs around the bark and didn’t notice. I’ve definitely dealt with a lot of PI and can’t say I’ve ever seen any ropes that fat!

Technically did this yesterday but didn’t have enough time to post, so here’s yesterday’s “today”… Helped out a good friend on the Ellis River up in the White Mountains of NH. Maintaining the river bank is vital, and recent rains have been causing the water to run high enough that the crown of one particular tree was getting heavily torqued on due to how low it hangs. It’s growing only a few degrees above horizontal, so much of the crown has literally been underwater lately. We went with a liberal raising and reduction.
