Who (or who's dad) remembers this bad boy?

I mean just the sheer initial concept of the Super25da...painted green....duh! But then they threw in that muff...just plain nasty in a "super" running climb saw.

It's like he just strolled right in and pooped on the living room floor!

...at least it's a dry one. I've heard worse.

Given the 30 plus years serving arborists, it shouldn't come as a surprise that SherrillTree's had "down times" when we didn't serve customers like family. These were usually during (or after) growth spurts. I was never a good manager of such transitions.

Arborists work harder than anybody in modern business, and every week face difficult clients who treat them like dogs. I know this, I get it. A little doggy payback is perfectly fair.

Fortunately for customers (and ST), the new ceo, Tripp Wyckoff has the strongest team I've seen in a long time. Devoted employees who sincerely appreciate new and returning customers and the industry in general. For those of you visiting regularly, I'm sure you've witnessed a lot more knowledge, and a lot more selection.

As for who's shopping SherrillTree today; the top 10 manufacturers of arborist tools, rope and gear report SherrillTree a strong distance from the next closest competitor. Regardless, its not a given, and the team doesn't take its position for granted. It's a lifestyle, not a race.

Not yet sir, look for it mid June! Come on guys, surely some of the ...more seasoned climbers ...have funny or interesting tales about early climbing saws. We used to sell these Poulans 25's by the hundreds!

Hmm, just occurred to me, guys my age (55) aren't as active on line as the younger crowd. Somebody go wake up the old man!!
It's mid June plus.

Much respect from the younger crowd here. I like to think that if I was from the era of some of you older guys that I would have the love of the trade and physical ability to do tree work back then, but not sure.

The love of the trade and everything in it that you vets have is what helped inspire the next generation of Arborists. It's not because working with trees looked easy.

Tobe the first time i saw a Sherrill catalog was such an eye opener to me about climbing and tree work and how much more there was out there then what I was shown.

You youngster are the lucky ones. More tools and techniques have come down the pipe in the last 5-8 years to make work easier, safer and better. Information is as far as as your phone which you can use it the top of a tree. You are carrying around a trade show and a supermarket in your pocket. Sherrill, TreeStuff and wesspur all have info up on the web and YouTube videos galore. The big trade shows have demo trees to watch guys actually doing the stuff they are coming up. You live at a great time to really work to bring arboriculture full circle as a science, business and trade. Bout time to get at it.

Sorry about the delay guys, I kind of took my eyes off the social media circuit this summer ...but the trade off was good. I hope everyone else is having a productive summer so far too!
Perhaps others will agree that Merle wrote the best short story here. His examples were very vivid and value in his investments easily relatable. I wish there were more of this kind of exchange on line but I realize each sort of category, i.e. story telling vs q&a, has its following.
Merle, please pm to me your home address so I can ship you a (pair of) saws. I have a second S25da that I plan to donate to ISA's arborist museum.
Treehive, please reach out to me regarding your Tree Fund effort, I'd like to participate. I wonder if you're talking about Tour de Trees?
Anyone else still following this thread can use promo code "silkybuzz" to receive a one time, one saw, 20% discount on the Silky Saw of your choice through sherrilltree.com This opportunity will begin this Friday and end next Friday (June 24-July 1).
