what would you do?

I'd remove it

Seriously though are you able to bomb stuff of towards the rocks? If so i'd bomb out everything on that side and the middle then either put a tag line it to fell the opposite side that way or with enough room fell the whole thing that way.

joking.

Pull test it? Then guy it out in a triangular pattern or criss-cross pattern (not where you wear your clothes backward.)

Hopefully no rigging needed.

A tow-behind lift would make easy work of it. Tow into position with a quad or tractor or bobcat or mini, if not truck access, or winch into position, winch out of position.

All good ideas. My thought is ti cut live limb toward shed off by standing on shed with a power pole saw then drop on the rocks. Any more thoughts.

I dont have the job yet but well see.

Do you have space to just drop it? Is the lean the problem, countered by the live limb removal, then drop?

I'm guessing that there might be more to it that the pictures show, if you are soliciting advice on the tree.???

How is the hinge wood? I'd bore it to check, bar in line with the lay, strip bark and examine, "sound" the tree with ax or maul.

If it isn't punky, you could just muscle it over a little by choking a rope around the main trunk, encircling some live tissue in the process, wedge or jack the tree with a bottle jack (no vibration from pounding wedges, and steady, beware wood compression above small top of bottle jack, maybe a piece of scrap plate steel on top of jack). Deep face cut to undermine the center of gravity more than a 1/3 face would, maybe halfway, with tensioned pull line.

I'm sure that you've eliminated all of the obvious solutions...fell it in one piece...etc.

Scaffolding can be erected pretty darn cheap. Much more stable than using ladders.

Request: Could you back-off and get some better "long-shots" of the site, please?
What are the potential nearby anchors, safe drop zones, hazards, etc.?
If possible, it would be good to see the full height of the tree, too.

You're obviously concerned, so there must be some reason why this is not a simple notch & drop (maybe pull).
But, so far, the available pictures don't fully show all the risks you seem to be concerned about.

Thanks!

However ... if you do use explosives ... YOU HAD BETTER POST SOME PIX OF THAT!!!

You might be able to guy line the tree away from the house and use a throw line to install a pull rope (as needed for strength and rip/ break limbs/ deadwood off the tree.

The roof looks like "12/12" so I would think that it would be an awkward place to work from.

Notch and drop into the woods. Dig up the shrubs 1st.
It's really hard to get the full picture from a picture (image).
From the looks of it in the image, I wouldn't climb it, which I'm sure you weren't either.
Be safe my friend.

Tne woods side base is rotted out too. Would work to use as notch though to drop in the woods. As the tree fell I would be worried of the live limb breaking on one of those saplings an falling back towards the shed. Ill try to get a couple more pics.

12/12 pitch is perfect if I sit at the peak.Anything less and it stretches my legs to far

can you not climb the back limb what goes out and up? anchor in there?

i have used one or more tirfor winches to stabilise trees befor.

failing that Scaffolding,
