what are these used for??????

Everytime I get a new Stihl chainsaw I always have one of these tools in the bag. Does anyone know what they are used for??????
If the picture is not clear they are black plastic tools about 4.5" long and each end is bent up and flairs out on the one side is printed TOP.
Any ideas?

It is for holding/captivating the piston in place. You insert through the spark plug hole.
You need this when you are taking off the clutch so you can grease or replace the clutch bearing or service the clutch

Ok, I always used a theaded tool that replaced the spark plug and extended into the cylinder for that job. I guess I could have saved myself some $$$ and just used the freebie insead. Thanks for the info know I can check off the one thing learned for today box.

I always wondered what those were. Now I wonder how many I've thrown out. I always used the extra pull cord out of the "saw toolbox" for that purpose.
