Weird Hand Injury

This morning as I was deadwooding a pecan tree I ended up hitting my left hand hard with the handsaw, it hurt pretty bad and I could see a puncture from a sawtooth by my wrist, took off my atlas glove expecting my hand to be badly cut instead nothing all, no punctures. Except that now part of my hand feels numb, tingly and if pressure is applied in the right place a weird pain spreads through my hand. I guess I hit a nerve, but it's never happened to me before, just had regular cuts. I am sure a lot of people have had this happen. Did it go away quickly or was it a protracted recovery?

ive hit my funny bone several times on the dee rings of my old saddle. once i hit it so hard i nearly passed out and the pain/numbness lasted for more than a week. sucked

Treeweaver,
I have had that exact injury but drew alittle blood. Haha its been about 5 months now and finally feels normal. It was on my left hand and numbness through my index and thumb. It still tingles when I rub it but It will get better. I forget how fast nerves grow back but they do

I've had that a few times too, also nicking a tendon and having tendinitis for a few months as it heals. After a few years of doing it on a regular basis I reconcidered my body positioning when I could have "follow through" contact with the saw. Now I rarely have the problem any more. I use less gauze pads now too

At one time I kept a roll of TP and tape handy for the really bad bleeders.
