Used chipper shopping

I used Fleet Farm label 'rustoleum' with good success. Primer then colored paint using them

The phosphate rust conversion treatments sure have a success, and fan base, amongst vehicle restoration groups. Follow directions, some phos treatments need primer ASAP.

We did OSPHO converting a few years back and it’s a great product but not the most fun to work with. You’re supposed to wipe down with mineral spirits before priming and I chemical burnt the fuck out of my arm from the thinner running past the gloves. I currently prefer the rustoleum brand converter, which is also a primer, top coat, then fluid film.

That's good to know. The underside of the frame would definitely cause stuff to get on me. No chemical burns wanted. The fluid film is an oil based protectant right??

It's already in service. Haha. The problem is the cold. It's too tall to fit in my garage without removing the chute and the garage isn't heated. Hoping to get some of it primered after surgery this week

When you get it painted, they will sand blast it. Anything you put on will be erased. Any white paint matches white paint better than rust matches white paint.

Obviously, painting over rust is short, short term. $25 in paint, and 25 minutes will do a lot.
A couple hours in prep is a better idea. If you have a spare day in a heated space, and $100 in consumables, you would look way nicer.

Ritchie Brothers is a auctioneer here, and elsewhere. Locally, maybe at each place, they have a full paint shop for heavy equipment for their auctions.

Plan for extra time without the chipper, just in case.

Winter might be a great time for paint shop availability. Dunno.
