Truck Tires to Save Lawns

I have been using 9 truck tires for about 3 years now. I use them to save on the lawns. Does anyone else do this?

Here is a short video. Truck tires to save lawns

Give me a good rating.

Good measure to save the lawn from large divots that take time to repair, & never are quite right afterwards.

We use my old rallycar tires, I always have heaps, and they have really strong sidewalls, so take the impack as good or better than truck tyres while lighter to cart around.

Hmmm... Can you take a picture of them? I'd like to see some.

I have about 9 any old size tires, but if I need more, I just go to Les schwab and get some...out of their non retreadable stash. then, I take em back when i'm done.....don't have room.

I lash em together so they don't fly apart....and have used as many as 50 to drop 30 foot plus fir logs onto a driveway.....

and have layered them with brush to drop wood on almost anything.....I hate to lower wood....

Now that would be a video!

I had a bunch of plywood for mats that would get layered between tires to make a crash pad. It worked much better than just tires.

I remember reading about someone using inflatable pads like stunt falls use to capture log drops too. Expensive but it solved the problem!

You ever considered trying one big tire? Like one from a tractor?

Maybe it would be too heavy. At least your small tires can be lifted individually.. Bigger would need to be rolled up a ramp.

Like the idea. Also like that your video is under a minute. There's too many 3 minute Youtube videos that should be 1 minute long.

Here you go!

They are the size of normal car tires but are very strong, with stiff kevlar reinforced sidewalls. You can sit on an upright tire and they wont collapse like a normal one. When flat they barely bulge out even under the weight of a car.

I'm new here, but we have been using tires for a long time. We use them a little differntly though. We lay a few sheets of ply first, then 3 tires then a log on top. The ply protects the lawn and the log spreads the load through the 3 tires. Works great and if your a little off one side of center its no big deal. We usually put a sheet and a log for the butt too. ... Mike
